My name is Wusthania Fondoit Alexandre, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with diverse populations with extensive background including children struggling with ADHD, family issues and interpersonal issues), adults in a crisis, trauma, depression, anxiety, prenatal and postpartum issues, and any underlying issues which affect their lifestyle. I want to be part of your journey, I will hold your hands when needed, and challenge you to do your best when you doubt yourself.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then we'll dive into the specific life challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will also ensure that we build rapport which is very important for a positive therapeutic relationship which will also grow more as we go.
My ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients using compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regards makes me unique. I was always told by my clients that being true to myself (with my inner calming, peaceful, positive, transparent and welcoming aura) makes my clients feel safer to normalize vulnerability and to be more receptive to receiving my therapeutic support to face their life challenges. For the past 9 years, 95% of my clients reported successful completion of their therapeutic goals and to maintain stabilized mood for a more resilient and self-sufficient life.
I am the right place for you if you need help to normalize vulnerability, changes, and need emotional support to unfold your emotional pain, fear, uncertainties or whatever negative feelings that you may be struggling with. Sometimes we are unaware of our situation and how it affects our lives and/or others, but how much longer would you hold on? I know that's hard to be on the hot seat, but take a step back, breathe and allow me to be part of your journey, your child's journey or/and your loved ones' journey! Allow me to guide you on the right path at your pace with compassion, charisma, humor, respect, patience, serenity, hope, wisdom, motivation and validation.
I have used ACT in individual therapy, in group and family sessions for the past 8 years to increase my clients' psychological flexibility and to encourage them to have a more value-driven life.
CBT was used in my practice to teach my clients how to identify and reframe their negative thought patterns and behaviors successfully for the past 8 years to have a more healthy and productive life.
When using DBT my client will learn how to manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, improve relationships and increase mindfulness (to learn how to pay attention to the present without judgment).
My graduate program was trauma-informed which helped me identify and recognize how any traumatic experiences can impact my clients' lives and it helped me prioritize the emotional safety of the survivors of trauma.
I have successfully used the person-centered therapy as it helps my former/current clients recognize their inherent capacity for personal growth that they sometimes did not know existed within themselves.
