About me

Hello, I am Doris Rhodes, MA, LPCC and I hold a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and I've been a licensed mental health professional since February 2017. My passion as a professional clinical counselor is to walk with you as you navigate through life's obstacles and regain your sense of control. My goal is to assist you in defining your goals and collaborate with you to develop a plan to realize them. I am committed to assisting my clients to look at the beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that cause pain and suffering. I offer my counseling services through video telehealth, so you can get help from the comfort of your own home.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate and collaborative approach between the client and the therapist and I will work alongside you to identify your goals and develop a solid plan with the steps to get you there. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and work towards your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, tailoring each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of my clients. I am passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can take root. Throughout my career, I have worked across diverse settings—including community mental health, private practice, and crisis intervention—which has enriched my ability to connect with clients from all walks of life. My goal is to empower clients to develop the insight and tools they need to lead more balanced, fulfilling lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clinical focus is Anxiety, Depressive Disorders, Grief, Spirituality, and Trauma informed care utilizing evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness tailored to client needs. I encourage clients to utilize their strengths to foster a solution-focused approach to therapy. My primary concern is to empower you, address your needs, and create a safe environment for you on your healing journey and feel supported during the process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based approach that I utilize CBT to empower individuals to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, learn practical coping skills, and implement behavioral changes that support long-term emotional wellness.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy is an evidence-supported approach that helps clients cultivate awareness, presence, and emotional balance. I support clients in learning to observe their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations with openness and without judgment—creating space for meaningful change, healthier responses, and deeper self-connection.

Trauma Informed Care

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I help clients understand how past experiences may shape present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while supporting them in building resilience, regulating the nervous system, and reclaiming a sense of control.
