Hello and Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Pennsylvania. For the past 15 years, I have been working with adolescents and adults that have struggled with domestic abuse and have symptoms of trauma such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, mistrust, and hopelessness, by helping them find their purpose and their "WHY". I help those who find it difficult to work through toxic or unhealthy relationships rather it be professionally or personally. I work with clients that experience emotional pain through their past trauma and help them break free from their pain where they regain their spark and power. Working with me, I will help you transform your emotional trauma into your strength. I have successfully helped clients write their stories, which are now books, about their past trauma and they have shared their stories with others so they too could encourage others to share their story and get the help they need, as there is power in sharing with others who are in similar situations. Again, it's about transforming emotional pain into power and strength. My focus is to help you heal, energize, and become aware of your inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. As a mental health therapist, I'm here to empower you to see yourself as a being with a powerful life story. As we embark on your therapeutic journey together, I will always let you take the lead, after all, you are the expert on your own story. I won't always have the answers, but I will make a safe space for you to find them for yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial meeting, we will begin with a concise introduction and then delve into the particular challenges you're facing. This process will enable me to formulate a personalized plan for us to address in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is helping you find your "WHY" and your purpose by being empathetic, compassionate and having excellent listening skills. This makes it easy for me to connect with you and help you to articulate your thoughts and feelings and to guide you to becoming a better you for yourself! I will help you figure out your beliefs and to set attainable objectives that are consistent with your values so that you live a life worth living. I will help you discover your passions, so you can live a meaningful, joyful and fulfilled life. My goal is to empower, inspire and uplift you to become a better YOU!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice as a therapist, I have over 15 years experience in applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their distress. By integrating CBT techniques like cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, I help clients develop practical skills and coping strategies to improve their mental health and achieve their therapy goals effectively.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

For the past 15 years, in my practice as a therapist, I have embraced the Person-Centered approach, focusing deeply on creating a therapeutic environment characterized by empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. I prioritize establishing a safe space where clients feel fully accepted and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges at their own pace. By placing the client's autonomy and self-discovery at the forefront of therapy, I aim to facilitate personal growth, enhance self-acceptance, and foster meaningful insights that lead to lasting positive change in their lives.

Grief Therapy

In my practice as a therapist, I have specialized in grief therapy, supporting individuals through the profound emotional journey of loss. Using a compassionate and client-centered approach, I help clients navigate the stages of grief, process complex emotions, and find meaning in their loss. Through therapeutic techniques such as narrative therapy, mindfulness, and supportive counseling, I provide a safe space for clients to honor their feelings, adapt to life changes, and ultimately integrate their loss into a renewed sense of self and purpose.

Eclectic

In my practice as an eclectic therapist, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic approaches and techniques tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. By integrating elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness practices, and more, I collaborate with clients to create a customized treatment plan. This flexible approach allows me to address a variety of mental health concerns comprehensively, empowering clients to explore different therapeutic modalities and find strategies that resonate most effectively with their personal growth and healing journey.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice as a therapist, I have integrated Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients cultivate psychological flexibility and embrace values-driven living. ACT emphasizes mindfulness techniques, acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings, and commitment to taking meaningful action aligned with personal values. I guide clients in identifying their values, clarifying goals, and developing mindfulness skills to navigate challenges with greater resilience and authenticity. Through ACT, clients learn to relate differently to their thoughts and emotions, fostering a deeper sense of fulfillment and well-being in their lives.
