LISW, 14 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor based in Ohio. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a master’s degree in Social Work. I have been providing therapy services for the past 14 years, 7 of those years in hospital psychiatric care. I have also provided therapy services to teens in treatment foster care and adults in community mental health agencies. I tend to treat adults who are struggling with trauma, life transitions, family/ relationship distress and overall day to day functioning.
In our first session, we will begin to build rapport and get to know one another. We will discuss your concerns, mental health history, and my therapeutic style. Together we will formulate a treatment strategy that we are comfortable with. A non-judgmental space for reflection and support will be provided.
I firmly believe in my professional and personal life that each and every one of us has a strength. We all possess a skill unique to us. I see each Client as an individual and align treatment based on the individual’s needs, current strengths, and goals identified. I naturally lead with grace and compassion. I will always provide truth and empathy in every interaction. You will never wonder about our treatment process as I believe transparency is important in building a therapeutic alliance.
I am best positioned to serve clients open to the therapeutic process and willing to make small steps toward the goals they have identified. My therapeutic style works best with clients who are having some difficulty navigating life’s struggles. This could be for a number of reasons such as, previous traumatic experiences, attachment styles, relational challenges, and, or depression.
I will use varying Dialectical Behavioral Therapy interventions to help clients manage intense, strong emotions. Typically, this includes, but is not limited to distress tolerance, interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills.
Acceptance Commitment Therapy has a focus on mindfulness, thoughts, and values. In session we may explore values, practice mindfulness, and learn ways to cope with thoughts.
I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher and utilize Somatic Therapy. Somatic Therapy is a body centered approach to mental health that emphasizes the connection between mind and body. In session this may be practicing breath work, and, or physical movement to enhance coping mechanisms and self -awareness.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy is a structured therapy encouraging brief focus on a traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation.
