In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve. This is your space to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with—there’s no rush or pressure. We’ll also talk about how I work and what you can expect from therapy, so you feel clear and confident moving forward. By the end of the session, we’ll start to identify goals and decide together on the best approach to support you. Think of this first meeting as a chance to explore whether we’re a good fit and to lay the groundwork for your healing and growth.

Motivational Interviewing

Change can sometimes feel overwhelming or uncertain. Using motivational interviewing, I’ll work with you to explore your own motivations and readiness for change in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. This approach helps you find your own reasons and confidence to move forward at a pace that feels right.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

You are the expert in your own life. I provide a warm, empathetic, and accepting environment where you can speak openly without fear of judgment. This supportive space helps you gain insight and clarity, empowering you to explore your feelings and experiences authentically.

Strength-Based

Everyone has unique strengths, talents, and resources even if they’re not always obvious. Together, we’ll identify and build on these strengths to foster resilience and self-confidence. This approach helps you access your inner resources to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals.
