New to Grow
My name is Ta'Erra but most people just call me Tae. I started this journey as a therapist to make sense of the world I was living in but it became my passion when I began to see the fruit of healing in others' lives. I have had the chance to work with those experiencing mood disorders, relational issues, and trauma-related disorders. I have also worked with many who like to integrate their Christian beliefs into therapy. My goal is to help you understand the impact that life experiences have had on shaping how you see yourself, others, and the world. I use EMDR, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is one where I will spend some time getting to know you, your background and your goals. It's also for me to review things that keep us moving along, a space for you to ask any questions you might have, and a time to brainstorm what the future could look like.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe that some of my biggest strengths are authenticity, compassion, wisdom, and a consistent desire to grow. I believe that no matter who you are, what you've done or how much life has impacted you, freedom and healing is possible. We can laugh, we can cry, we can grieve, and everything in between!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is one who is ready for change. The decision to start therapy can be a bit anxiety-provoking, so even just booking that first appointment can be a huge first step. I enjoy working with people who are open to exploring their past experiences and current issues.
Christian Counseling
I have had experience incorporating biblical principles, scripture and prayer into sessions where clients directly express a desire for this integration.
EMDR
I use EMDR to process memories attached to negative beliefs that still cause disruptions in everyday life.
Couples Counseling
I work with couples to explore their strengths, identify patterns of disruption and create solutions based on developing trust and communication.
Experiential Therapy
I use experiential techniques to process emotions and thought processes that keep us stuck from experiences in the past.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use this help clients identify the competing parts of themselves, understand each parts' motivation, and help these parts heal so that you can come back to your core self.
