With over 20 years in the mental health field as a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I have had the privilege of working with children, teens and adults in diverse settings including hospitals, residential programs and schools. My approach is practical, supportive and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strengths-Based Practice while keeping sessions conversational not clinical.
In our first session, we will simply get to know each other. You will share what has been on our mind, I will ask some questions to better understand your story and together we will talk about your goals for therapy. There is no pressure to have the "perfect" words, just a safe space to start untangling what feels heavy and take the first small step forward.
Building strong, trusting relationships is at the core of my therapeutic approach. I strive to create a space where therapy feels like a natural, collaborative partnership rather than a forced interaction. My person-centered approach empowers individuals to set the tone, pace, and goals of their therapy, ensuring that their unique needs and aspirations are prioritized. I consider myself down-to-earth and approachable, valuing transparency, creativity, and productivity in my work. My aim is to foster an environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and are motivated to take actionable steps toward their personal growth and well-being. My focus is on your therapy and well-being; FMLA and medical forms are handled by your prescriber.
I have a particular passion for working with individuals who are ready to talk and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I find joy in helping them navigate their current challenges while envisioning and striving toward their desired futures. I believe that effective therapy combines elements of both therapeutic support and life coaching, allowing individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, nurturing environment.

She has 20 years of experience working as a therapist with both adults and kids. Amber has a diverse set of skill sets since she has worked at so many different places. Her use of CBT and meditation as a tool for therapy is encouraging. Today was my first session and I look forward to working with her on my journey.

My first visit with Amber was better than I even anticipated. She was kind, approachable, empathetic, empowering and was able to make sense of my anxious, first introduction rambling! Haha! I’m looking forward to my next appointment!
