Hi, I'm Ellise, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio. For the past seven years I've been dedicated to supporting adult patients with PTSD, anxiety, depression, BPD, and substance abuse diagnoses become the best version of themselves. My therapeutic approach is rooted in CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT, and IFS, I tend to use a blend of these methods in my sessions to best target what goals you as my patient set. It's my goal to help you achieve balance in your life and become the best version of yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is where we will discuss what brings you to therapy and we will discuss what you want to get out of these sessions, start planning the goals you have for us to work on and we'll review your intake paperwork.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I've worked in several different settings, I started as a jail based therapist, transitioned into an outpatient mental health therapist and then moved into a private practice. I have experiences in a variety of settings which helps me be able to understand and relate to a wide base of clients, I lead with integrity, respect, and compassion for each client I work with and will help you achieve the goals you have with a variety of methods which I blend together to tailor to each individual client.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is a client ready to put in the work to get the help they need to move forward in their life, someone who needs tools/coping skills to get better and is willing to show up and word hard to achieve the goals they set in sessions.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT and other methods to help clients with identifying values and helping them get on track with their goals, allowing them the flexibility to modify as necessary and help in guiding to set targets in sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been practicing this modality the longest amount of time, it allows patients to connect thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and positive and negative consequences to better understand why we do the things we do and how to use positive skills to grow into the best version of themselves.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT can help a lot with emotional regulation, PTSD flashbacks and addictions by getting a better handle on how our thoughts and emotions can be driving forces to the behaviors we exhibit. DBT also allows patients help with setting boundaries with others and moving forward in healthy relationships.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I like using emotionally focused therapy in my practice to really target how our emotions can shift and change over time, I will use this method to regulate mood and show how our emotions can impact us relationally as well as physically and how to undo any traumas that have occurred by releasing emotions in a positive way.
