Hi there! I’m Dr. Tabitha Simpson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel like a safe and supportive conversation. I’ve worked in a variety of mental health settings and enjoy using an integrated care approach that looks at the whole person—mind, body, and environment. I’m especially passionate about maternal mental health, particularly in rural areas where support can be hard to find. My goal is to help women navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum life, and all the transitions that come with motherhood. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients of all ages, from providing play therapy for children to supporting adults through life’s challenges. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I want you to feel comfortable, understood, and empowered every step of the way.
Your first session with me is all about getting to know you. We’ll spend time talking about what brings you to therapy, what’s been working (and what hasn’t), and what you’d like to get out of our time together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, strengths, and goals—but there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you can feel heard and supported from the very beginning. We’ll move at your pace and start building a plan that feels realistic and meaningful for you.
What stands out about my approach is how personalized and integrative it is. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy—each session is tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. I combine evidence-based methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and strengths-based approaches to help you build insight, develop coping skills, and create lasting change. I also take a holistic view of wellness—considering your physical health, environment, and relationships alongside your mental health. Clients often tell me they appreciate my down-to-earth style and how comfortable they feel opening up. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward with confidence.
I love working with people who are doing their best to hold everything together but feel like something’s got to give. Many of my clients are women navigating pregnancy, postpartum changes, or fertility challenges, often in rural areas where support isn’t easy to find. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to juggle so many roles while trying to care for yourself, too. I also work with parents, caregivers, and helping professionals who are learning to slow down, set boundaries, and make room for their own needs. In our sessions, we’ll work together to help you feel more grounded, balanced, and confident in where you’re headed. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and reminded that you don’t have to walk through this alone.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the core methods I use in my work. I’ve integrated CBT principles throughout my clinical experience in both healthcare and community settings, helping clients identify how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect. Together, we work to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical coping strategies that support lasting change. I especially find CBT helpful for clients managing anxiety, depression, and postpartum mood concerns, as it provides structure and tools that can be applied in daily life. My approach to CBT is flexible and compassionate—I meet clients where they are and adapt the process to fit their unique needs, pace, and goals.
Mindfulness-based therapy is a cornerstone of my practice. I often integrate mindfulness techniques—such as grounding, breathwork, and guided awareness—into sessions to help clients reconnect with the present moment and reduce feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or self-judgment. In my experience, mindfulness is especially powerful for clients navigating postpartum adjustments, life transitions, and chronic stress, as it encourages self-compassion and calm in the midst of uncertainty. My approach is gentle and practical—I help clients find simple ways to bring mindfulness into everyday life, creating space for healing, clarity, and emotional balance.
