Hi. My name is Erv. I specialize in men's issues, but have helped both men and women find happiness and overcome depression, anxiety, and addiction. I have spent most of the last decade working in the addiction treatment industry, helping people explore their strengths and learn coping skills to deal with life. I believe that the most important part of therapy is making clients feel understood, heard, and welcomed.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will discuss their concerns, issues, and they will get a chance to tell their story, and we will discuss a general plan of treatment, what may have worked in the past, and what positive behaviors can help improve their quality of life starting on day one. I will introduce myself, and explain my techniques and treatment methods.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen and try to connect with each client on a personal level. I believe that the most important aspect of treatment is this personal connection the client experiences with their therapist.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help client analyze thinking patterns that make their problems worse. Many of these thinking patterns are not logical, and do not hold up to scrutiny. Unfortunately, they are deeply embedded into our lifestyle and were learned at an early age.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help clients talk through their problems and find their own solutions. This often involves easily identified positive behaviors that can make quick differences in mood and quality of life. This also includes identifying negative influences and triggers. I also use aspects of Behavioral Activation to help clients identify hobbies, fin activities, and other activities they can en gage in to help them feel better quickly.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Helping clients calm their mind, and increase awareness of their body is a great way to help them ease anxiety, and find more peace in life, even when they're surrounded with chaos.

Motivational Interviewing

Helping clients find their own path is key to healing. Once they understand their motivation, and identify things that support that desire, it is easier for them to succeed at treatment goals.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I listen and make clients feel accepted and understood. So many of us, in our personal lives, don't have this sense of acceptance. It is powerful, and builds a strong therapeutic relationship. This relationship, above all else, is the strongest predictor of client success.
