Hello! I'm Gustavo Olvera and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), serving clients via telehealth throughout the State of California. My long-time approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are and work with them to identify goals that will help them improve their quality of life. I believe that we all have the potential to succeed in life and the potential to achieve greatness. A healthy mind is key to success, as we often have to make critical decisions daily. I believe we can all achieve our desired goals by increasing and maintaining a positive outlook on our mental health. What attracted me to wanting to become a therapist was my true and honest desire to help others. Seeing how clients benefit from therapy, seeing how clients can truly overcome their mental illness, and seeing how clients can return to normal and healthy day-to-day living is what drives me to continue to do the work that I do. Today I invite you, to allow yourself to start your journey to a better tomorrow; I am inviting you to take a chance. Sadly we can't change what happened yesterday, nor do we know what will happen tomorrow, but we can hope for a better tomorrow by making positive decisions today.

Hi there. I'm Steve. I specialize in relationships of all kinds, especially romantic/intimate/sexual and including ethical nonmonogamy (ENM). I believe living in the world today means the demands for your attention are often relentless, sometimes making you overwhelmed, stuck, or feeling like you've lost touch. Think of therapy as a place where you and I show up for YOU—for that very blessed being you get to be, this whole life. In turn, this helps all your relationships thrive, which again, helps you thrive too! We all have a natural drive to adapt, learn, and grow, and we do so in relationships—with ourselves, with others, with ideas and values, and with the world. You and I will listen closely—from where you are right now—to help reconnect you to your innate tendency to grow and change in desired ways. This may very well mean tolerating more friction and tension at first. It’s alright. You will get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. Over time, knowing how you feel, think, and act—right here and now—will help you make better choices, recharge your sense of well-being, and enliven your relationships.

It's important to have a safe place to go to talk about tough things, and about daily life. Where there are no "shoulds" or expectations to fit in a certain box. This is where healing can begin. I generally work within a psychodynamic structure, also known as talk therapy, which focuses on processing experiences and exploring early events and developmental stuff that can get in the way of functioning and growth today. But I’m also practical. It’s important to have goals and to work with tools that help, and to deal with the here and now.

I was born in the US, but I was raised in Mexico. I lived in Tijuana for 10 years when my parents decided to move us across the border to Chula Vista, California. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I experienced a duality of cultures. I was often judged for either being “not Mexican enough” OR “not American enough.” I also faced enormous pressure to be successful – to justify my parents’ having left their beloved country so my sibling and I could have a better life. This is one of many reasons I decided to follow this path: to help those who feel alone in their journey. That’s how I felt when acculturating to this country. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at San Diego State University (SDSU). I was going to go directly into the workforce and eventually go back for my master’s, but an awesome professor challenged me to apply right away so I wouldn’t lose momentum. So, that’s what I did. I ended up getting my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Southern California. It took some time and courage to finish all my licensing requirements, but it was worth it! I’ve been licensed as a clinical social worker in California since 2019. I am certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.

If you're seeking to understand yourself better or questioning your reactions, an impartial person can offer support through this process. My name is Jessica, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience assisting individuals across various settings and life stages. Life's difficulties and complexities can be daunting and seeking help may feel intimidating. Yet, by reaching out, you've taken the first step. I am eager to join you on your journey. Support during times when we feel utterly drained can be transformative. Together, we can makes sense of the issues you face and formulate a plan to tackle them. Remember, you are not alone, and you are more than your anxiety, depression, or any losses you've endured. Regarding my background, I embarked on my educational path later in life. After earning my AA from Chabot College, I initially thought that would be the extent of my education. However, encouraged by faculty, friends, and family, I pursued further studies at Mills College, where I obtained my BA in Psychology. This led me to work with children and families in ABA therapy, which inspired me to further my education. I enrolled in USC's MSW program, paving my way into social work. Post-graduation, I supported individuals with chronic medical conditions, substance use issues, and other mental health challenges. My career also includes aiding individuals reintegrating into society post-incarceration. Most recently, I have worked with individuals diagnosed with chronic medical conditions and those in hospice care, where depression, anxiety, grief, and loss are natural and expected reactions to such significant life changes.

Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) currently based and practicing in Oregon, though with an active license in California as well. I attended California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) for graduate school and lived in the Bay Area for a decade before moving to Portland, OR shortly before the pandemic. I have over thirteen years of experience as a "generalist" therapist, though I specialize in supporting individuals in the midst of life transitions, including but not limited to: relationship challenges, moves to a new city or state, new or chronic medical diagnoses, career and work problems, spiritual questioning, transitions into the workforce or retirement. I do NOT work with couples at this time. While I consider the psychological theories behind my work, I hold them lightly in the room, believing most fundamentally in the importance of an adaptive, culturally-sensitive, non-judgmental stance with my clients. PLEASE NOTE: your chosen intake appointment time is subject to my final approval based on my shifting availability. I see clients on multiple platforms and am unable to sync all of my calendars in real time. Following the initial appointment, we will find a mutually agreeable meeting time and I will manage the booking on the Grow platform going forward, including rescheduling and cancellations. You will need to message me directly to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I request the courtesy of as much advanced notice as possible. I am not able to work with clients who cancel without 24 hrs advanced notice or no show more than twice.

Greetings! My name is Angelica, and I am grateful to be a part of this team and to assist you with addressing and fulfilling your mental health and treatment needs. I hold a blended educational background (MPH, MSW) which has allowed me to obtain duality of experience in terms of social work and public health as impactful avenues of study and intervention. My background currently leads my approaches to therapeutic interventions with elevated consideration to the interplay between individual, societal, and environmental factors and how these variables affect mental health, access to quality healthcare, and ultimately one's well-being. My current experience stems from both fields and spans clinical settings, hospital settings, substance abuse, and rehab facilities where I have conducted biopsychosocial and psychiatric diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and both individual and group therapy in these settings. My therapeutic approach consists of collaboration and helping clients feel safe, supported, and above all, for them to feel seen and heard. Conducting a robust assessment, tailoring appropriate interventions, and utilizing respect, tact, and authenticity are at the heart of my values for optimized therapeutic outcomes.

If you’re reading this, it means you exist. Based on your religion, culture, or general belief, you may have a meaning for existence. However, no matter your meaning, one thing is clear - existence can be very challenging for us. There are many ways to cope with the challenges of existing, resulting in different experiences. Therapy is just one way to manage the challenges. Therapy There are many ways to approach therapy. One way I like to approach it is to view an individual as a system. In therapy then, we check the system to see what’s working well, what’s neutral, and what’s not going well. In doing this, the goal is to get an individual to admit the reality of things, not what the individual wants or hopes but the present true reality. It's important to identify and understand the reality of an individual because often there are significant fears and or unstable belief in the individual’s ability to manage challenges and get desired results. Lack of control – one of the foundational fears for us is the lack of control we seem to have over ourselves and others. How does one cope with seemingly so little control - from how one comes into existence to how will my friend react if I said no. Whether you’re a veteran in going to therapy or trying it for the first time, we will work as a team to see if we can get you to be how you want to be given the infinite things that are not in your control.
