Hi, I’m Colette, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I know starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I’m glad you’re here. I provide a calm, supportive space where you can feel safe to share your story and begin making sense of what you’re going through. Grief work is at the heart of my practice. Whether you’re coping with the loss of a loved one, a major life change, or a more personal kind of loss, I’m here to support you. I also work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, addiction and recovery, maternal mental health, and life transitions. In our work together, we’ll explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. We can look at patterns from the past, while also building tools to help you manage the present. I use mindfulness and CBT techniques to support you in understanding your thoughts and finding ways to cope with stress. In grief work, we may also create meaningful rituals or practices to honor your loved ones while caring for yourself. I believe it’s possible to hold both pain and joy, and I will support you in finding that balance. If you feel ready, I invite you to take the next step and schedule an appointment. I would be honored to work with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect a warm, welcoming space where you are met with compassion and without judgment. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you may have. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and supported from the very beginning.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a genuine, compassionate, and steady presence to our work. I value building strong relationships so you can feel comfortable and supported. My goal is to create a space where our work together feels both meaningful and productive.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults navigating grief, anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, major life transitions, and relationship challenges. This includes people who are in the middle of something hard, those trying to understand longstanding patterns, and those simply looking for consistent support as they move through a difficult chapter. My practice is best suited for those seeking steady, supportive therapy rather than intensive or emergency-level care.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as part of my work, especially when worry, self-criticism, or repetitive thought patterns are getting in the way. It focuses on helping you notice those patterns and question them so they have less power. It offers practical tools you can use between sessions, and depending on what you’re navigating, it may be one part of how we work together.

Grief Therapy

Grief work is at the core of my practice, and my approach is grounded in Dr. Joanne Cacciatore's Selah model of compassionate bereavement care. Rather than moving you through or past grief, we create space to be with it, surrender to it, and eventually find ways to carry it into meaningful action in the world. As a Compassionate Bereavement Care Specialist, I work from the belief that grief is not a problem to be solved — it is a reflection of love, and it deserves to be honored.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness shows up in my work as an orientation rather than a structured practice — learning to notice what’s happening inside you without judgment or the immediate urge to change or fix it. For clients navigating anxiety, grief, or major life transitions, that kind of awareness can be grounding on its own. The practice is really about paying attention, and that alone can be a good place to start.

Humanistic

My work is grounded in a humanistic approach, which means I start from the belief that you are the expert on your own life. The therapeutic relationship is collaborative, and my role is to offer thoughtful support as we explore what you are carrying, look at patterns, and focus on what feels most important to you. People tend to move toward growth when they feel genuinely heard and understood, and that is the foundation of how I work.

Sandplay

Sandplay is a therapeutic approach that uses a tray of sand and a collection of figures and objects to give form to what can be hard to put into words. Working with the hands and with symbols can access parts of experience that talk therapy sometimes doesn’t fully reach, especially in grief, trauma, and emotion that is held more in the body than in language. While sandplay is not available in virtual sessions, I am trained in this modality and offer it in in-person work.
