Hello my name is Sandra Nunez, and I provide intuitive psychotherapy services to individual, children, couples, and families in need of counseling. People search for therapy for various reasons. Most often these reasons include feelings of sadness, experiencing difficulties adjusting to life changes, difficulties dealing with chronic physical pain, emotional pain, trauma, depression, anger, and anxieties. Perhaps you are trying to heal from a difficult relationship breakup, leaving you feeling sad and defeated. It could be that you are a part of a newly formed blended family, living together for the first time, and instead of joy you are experiencing chaos. You may be seeking help, because your spouse has received orders for yet another deployment with the military. Having to say goodbye once again, leaves you feeling frustrated, anxious and sad. Often people come to therapy due to grief and loss. People dealing with difficult life changes, may experience a range of negative emotions, from sadness, anxiety to anger. These feelings often manifest as stress, which may cause further strain in personal relationships or affect one’s quality of life. Guiding Hope Individual and Family Therapy in San Diego, California is a private online practice owned by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Behavioral Health, serving clients in the State of California and Colorado.

You Know What You Should Do—So Why Are You Still Stuck? You’re so frustrated with yourself. You want to start a better habit, make that healthy choice, or finally do something good for yourself… but somehow, another day ends and nothing has changed. You numb out with TV, scrolling, or distractions—not because you’re lazy, but because you’re overwhelmed, unmotivated, and stuck in patterns that feel impossible to break. You keep asking, “What’s wrong with me?” You talk yourself up, try to rally up motivation, even map out a plan—but when the moment comes, you shut down. Guilt kicks in, feeling broken, stuck, and frustrated. And that’s exactly where therapy comes in - it's time to get you feeling like your best self again! I'm here to help! I’m Tammy Brooks, LMFT. I provide online therapy for adults wanting to reduce anxiety, change habits, and make lasting change. I provide online counseling in California, Michigan, Missouri, and Texas. I use a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach so we won’t dwell on what’s not working—we’ll identify what IS working and build momentum from there. My approach is action-oriented, personalized, and designed to get results - and fast! Instead of rehashing the past week after week, I ask thoughtful, goal-oriented questions that guide you toward the hopeful, confident version of yourself—the one who says, “I’ve got this,” even when life throws curveballs. We’ll work together to uncover your strengths, explore your dreams, and focus on small steps that create real progress. You may even surprise yourself by reconnecting with coping skills you forgot you had—or discovering new ones you’ve always been capable of trying. If you’re ready for a personalized, results-driven approach—a space to rediscover your strength—book your appointment today—and take that first step toward a brighter, more manageable tomorrow.

Hello, I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and earned my master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University. I am a US Navy veteran and former police officer. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and transplanted to San Diego due to my military service. Being bi-racial, I welcome the experiences of various walks of life. Those ten years of civil service taught me about the resilience and fragility of the human psyche, which sparked my passion for mental health as it applies to human behavior. I work with people who suffer from anger management, sexual aggression (CASOMB - California Sex Offender Management Board certified treatment provider), sex/pornography addiction, poor self-regulation/impulse control, anxiety, depression, history of trauma, antisocial, narcissistic, and psychopathic/sociopathic personalities, individuals with criminal histories, adult ADHD, difficulty with maintaining healthy relationships, and low self-esteem. I also enjoy working with veterans, law enforcement, and other first responders or professionals who are impacted by vicarious trauma and burnout. I am LGBTQIA-affirming and respect spiritual and religious values. Therapy requires hard work and courage. I’m honored to be part of your journey to healing and personal development. You’re the hero of your story. I’ll be your sidekick.

Hi, I'm Dr. Holly Siegrist, and I am a psychologist licensed in California with 16 years of experience. I take a strength-based approach, and I work with clients on spirituality and meaning making, creativity, dream analysis, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress related to disability and other discrimination, grief, chronic illness, losses, and life change. My interests are in social justice, coping with discrimination, health and wellness, and resilience. My therapy style is warm and welcoming. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion, and providing a safe space to listen to clients. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology with Specialization in Existential, Humanistic, and Transpersonal Psychology from Saybrook University. I also hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, an M.S. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in Disability, Health and Illness from the University of Leeds, and bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, Seattle. I specialize in dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. What drew me to therapy was my interest in social justice work while I was attending the University of Washington, and did peer counseling with students. I have always been interested in helping people, I enjoy hearing people’s stories, and I also find that in the therapeutic process I learn more about myself. Through my therapy journey I have gained much experience in working with diverse people. In addition, during my time at Saybrook University, I received training in spiritual approaches in therapy, and dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. I'm glad you are moving towards living a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to support you so you can empower yourself on your journey of transformation.

I am a husband, father, and twin brother (I have and identical twin sister). I am also a reiki master and hypnotherapist. When I am not conducting psychotherapy (talk therapy), I enjoy conducting past life regressions to help people resolve past life trauma. I also use hypnotherapy to heal trauma. Hypnotherapy is not covered by most insurances and may result in cash pay. I enjoy helping people identify their wants and needs so they can then identify their goals and dreams. I believe we all have had experiences that have stifled our self-confidence which then causes us to doubt our ability. I enjoy helping people discover that part of themselves that is hidden as a result. I believe the world is a collective of people. We need to take care of ourselves, each other, and the animals we share this planet with.

Hello, i'm Randy. Despite having the title of being a therapist, I believe that no matter how many years of work experience a therapist has, and no matter how many credentials/degrees a therapist has, all of that goes out the window if they don't have the ability to click and level with their clients. Initiating therapy services may feel like a leap of faith; as one would have to initiate a process in which they will be meeting with a therapist who is a complete stranger to them in the beginning. So congratulations on taking the first step for seeking treatment ! I have worked with a variety of clientele throughout my career in the mental health field; which consisted of 3 years of working with adults, and 3 years of working with children/adolescents aged 3-17, as well as the adult population. My goal is to provide support to adults who are experiencing difficulties reaching their full potential in life due to both internal and external hardships.

Are you down on yourself, beating yourself up with thoughts like "I'm not good enough, I'm a failure, I should work harder than I do or I'll never get what I want out of life?" Do you focus on your flaws rather than your strengths and maybe have even forgotten what your strengths are? You're an Asian-American professional who has achieved much in your life, and yet, despite all of your successes, you're still unhappy. You find yourself angry with other people, worried about how things will turn out, disappointed when things don't go your way, and frustrated with all of the above. You know that there has to be more to life than your robotic routine, but you haven't been able to figure out what that is yet. I was in the same situation that you're in, and I've learned how to do better. I speak from personal experience, not from book learning. I specialize in helping Asian-American professionals bridge the gap between cultures, overcome their harsh inner critic, and develop true confidence and self-respect. Happiness is your natural birthright. It is my privilege and joy to work with clients and help them discover what is blocking them from the happiness that is already inside of them. If you would like to work with me and discover more of what's in you, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have worked in private practice and the school systems providing Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) for almost 25 years. During this time I founded a small business where my team and I provide these mental health services individually and in groups on-site to school districts all over Sonoma County, CA. I love working with children k-12 and their families. I have worked in non-public schools, public schools, and privately with at-risk youth and their families. This has been my passion my whole career. I have been married to my lovely wife for 18 years, together for 24 years and we have two beautiful children. Our son is 13 and our daughter is 10. I enjoy all things outdoors. I surfed competitively in my youth and I love mountain biking, snowboarding and anything that has to do with water, but my main love is spending time with my family.

Hello there! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). My approach is rooted in curiosity, kindness, and compassion, aiming to create a nurturing environment where you can openly express yourself. My ultimate aim is to equip clients with practical, yet powerful skills and tools that empower them to live life with confidence, peace and trust. I offer a holistic, personalized approach that embraces body, mind, and spirit. I am certified in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, working with ketamine (KAP). I offer preparation and integration sessions for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. I am not a traditional talk therapist. I believe sharing our story is an essential part of the healing journey. We long to be seen, heard, and witnessed in our stories and if we want long-lasting change and transformation, we must be willing, ready, and feel safe to transform our cognitive narratives through feeling in the body.

Hi, I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. My approach to therapy is person-centered and psychodynamic, and I use various modalities to help people become more connected to their true selves. My goal is to offer a supportive environment where people can fully express themselves, gain insight, and take steps toward healing and personal growth. In therapy, I work with people to explore, make sense of, and identify how their upbringing may be contributing to problems in living. This awareness is often a catalyst for positive change. I also use mindfulness-based CBT to help people become aware of and challenge thoughts that aren’t true and are contributing to depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Spirituality?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Spirituality, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
