About me

Hi, I’m Betty Ortiz-Gallardo, LMFT, and I’m passionate about helping individuals find healing, clarity, and emotional balance. I create a supportive and culturally grounded space where you can explore your experiences without judgment. My approach is collaborative and compassionate—I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, strengthen your relationships, and reconnect with your inner resilience. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or major life transitions, we’ll work together to uncover what you need to feel more grounded, empowered, and understood.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you’re encouraged to show up exactly as you are. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll guide the conversation with curiosity and care, helping you share at your own pace while also asking thoughtful questions to understand your history, strengths, and stressors. By the end of the session, we’ll clarify your goals and begin identifying the patterns or “dots” we’ll work on connecting. My aim is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and grounded—with a clearer sense of the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart is my ability to blend evidence-based practices with a warm, grounded, and culturally attuned style. I draw from CBT, attachment-based work, and multicultural therapy to help clients make meaningful connections between their past experiences, current patterns, and desired future. I focus on creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel truly seen, supported, and empowered. My approach is intentional and insight-oriented—guiding clients to connect the dots, understand the deeper roots of their emotions, and develop practical skills they can immediately apply to daily life. Clients often share that they leave sessions feeling clearer, more centered, and more capable of creating the change they want.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to serve clients who are ready to look inward, connect the dots, and make meaningful changes in their lives. I work especially well with women who are preparing to become mothers, those in the thick of motherhood, and those who need a compassionate space to heal, grow, and rediscover themselves. My ideal clients are introspective, open to self-reflection, and motivated to understand their patterns so they can create healthier, more fulfilling relationships and emotional balance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the foundation of my practice because it is a practical, effective, and empowering approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In our work together, I provide structured tools, evidence-based strategies, and gentle guidance to help you challenge self-limiting beliefs, reduce anxiety, improve mood, strengthen coping skills, and build healthier habits.

Attachment-based

In my practice, I use an attachment-based approach because our earliest relationships shape how we understand safety, love, and connection throughout our lives. By exploring the patterns we developed with our caregivers, we can better understand why we react, relate, or protect ourselves the way we do today. Together, we identify these patterns with compassion—not judgment—and work toward creating healthier, more secure ways of connecting with others. This approach helps clients build stronger emotional awareness, improve relationship dynamics, heal from past wounds, and develop a deeper sense of trust and stability within themselves and their relationships.

Multicultural

I take a multicultural approach in my practice because each client’s cultural background is a vital part of who they are and how they move through the world. Our values, family dynamics, identities, and lived experiences all shape the way we cope, connect, and understand ourselves. I believe that therapy must honor and integrate each person’s cultural story with sensitivity and respect. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore how their cultural strengths, traditions, and experiences influence their healing and growth.
