Hello – Welcome to Insight Care Counseling! The beauty of this -our shared life’s journey- is that we can aspire to embody its greatest gifts: love, fulfillment, clarity and peace. And yet, at times, we encounter challenges and changes that bring forth feelings of stress, depression, anxiety -or numbness and disorientation. And it is often at these junctures that psychotherapy can help; for in essence, the therapeutic journey is about finding richness even while in the land of disenchantment … and healing even while walking through pain. I’m Jonathan, a California-based psychotherapist with broad experience in the field. My therapeutic style is warm and compassionate, active and engaged. Helping you navigate your wellness-growth journey in an effective and authentic way, is my calling and my passion! If you have any questions and/or need assistance in making an appointment, please contact our dedicated Grow Therapy intake team at: +1 (786) 755-1863 And/or via email: reception+Jonathan14167@growtherapy.com
In our first session together, after a warm greeting and brief introductions, we listen to your story and your needs. In the latter part of the session, in a gentle yet guiding style, we do a detailed summary of your personal, family, professional, and other history. Finally, towards the end of this screening/intake session, we reflect on goals and expectations -deciding and shaping our therapeutic path forward.
My background intersects religious studies and psychology; I specialize in matters of the heart and mind: personal growth and life transitions; relationships and family issues; and historical/unresolved pain. I also have extensive experience with teachings stemming from Buddhist Psychology; Eastern and Western spiritual practices; and Mindfulness and Meditation -all increasingly supported by modern research in both Cognitive and Contemplative Science.
The Experience: Twenty-two years as a psychotherapist and Meditation & Mindfulness instructor, also leading the Stress-Anxiety Management Program -all at Kaiser Permanente Psychiatry, Southern California; prior additional experience as an Associate Clinical Supervisor leading multiple community service-based agencies; also training as an in-patient Mental Health Counselor. Currently, I teach and counsel students as an Adjunct Faculty at a local college, also here in (Telehealth) private practice.
