Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, based in North Carolina and also licensed in Connecticut. I have 15 years experience, working for many years in an emergency room environment. I specialize in working with individuals who are faced with challenging life situations due to anxiety, depression, anger issues, loss, or substance misuse. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make life changes in order to have happy and healthy lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I pride myself in tailoring my treatment style to meet the needs of the individual. Therefore, in your first session, I will ask a lot of questions to be able to understand what your immediate needs may be, what you expect from therapy, and start the process of building a trusting therapeutic relationship and setting realistic goals for your personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my most valuable skill as a social worker is my compassion and sense of humor. I use a direct, straightforward approach, while staying honest and empathetic. I also love to help an individual realize their potential and identify and develop their personal strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use a combination of evidence-based therapeutic styles in working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, and anger management. I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a guide in working with a person to discover how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and then introduce coping skills to help a person manage their thoughts and emotions effectively. I use CBT to help a person identify challenging life situations, help them overcome obstacles, all while focusing on their strengths in making healthy life changes.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I realize all people choose therapy for many different reasons; therefore, I pride myself in tailoring a treatment style to meet the needs of the individual. I especially value the importance of Mindfulness as it applies to self-care and empowerment, and use this philosophy to primarily focus on a person’s mind and body, as it applies to health, wellness and your personal healing process.
