I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling with a Emphasis in Professional Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University. I have 16+ years of Clinical experience practicing Outpatient Therapy . I assist children and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions with developing coping skills to manage their symptoms on a daily basis without disruptions to their lifestyles and daily functioning.
Our first session will consist of a brief introduction, expectations, and discuss challenges and issues clients are currently facing to better assist them with developing a plan to work on decreasing and managing symptoms.
I have worked in the mental health field for 21 years providing Outpatient Therapy, Intensive In Home, Community Support, and Developmental Disabilities services. I have been working with children and adults to assist them with identifying the cause of their problems, developing coping strategies to manage symptoms, and discuss a plan to measure progress towards treatment.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist clients with reducing symptoms of various mental health conditions to include but not limited to: depression, PTSD, and anxiety disorders. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes associated with behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop coping strategies that assist with resolving current problems.
I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients with finding solutions to problems instead of focusing on the problems themselves. My theory is that people can overcome difficulties by using their positive attributes and behaviors. Solution Focused Brief Therapy focus on the present and future, instead of analyzing the past. It helps clients define goals and create strategies to achieve them.
Psychoeducation is a evidenced-based therapeutic intervention for clients that provides information and support to better understand and cope with illness
Person-centered Therapy focuses on helping clients understand and discover themselves. It is a non-directive form of talk therapy that involves the client and therapist working together to help the client grow and develop.
Strength-Based Therapy focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings.
