Hi there! Starting therapy can be an intimidating process, but I hope I can help make it as positive and collaborative as possible. As a therapist, I specialize in treating phobias, anxiety disorders (social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia), OCD, Depression, and Trauma (PTSD). My goal is to aid you to moving to a life without fear. I know anxiety can be incredibly debilitating, so if you're ready to make a change and start facing your fears, I am the right therapist for you! I specialize in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, and depression, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD/ trauma, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is a specialized form of therapy for phobias, panic disorder, and OCD! Unlike some providers, I can assure you we will actually do exposures in session. Typically the first intro sessions are assessment and education, but we quickly move into creating your fears hierarchy and facing your fears using achievable steps. My goal is to help you overcome challenges, change behaviors, and help you live your best life. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from New College of Florida and continued on to receive my master's in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from UCF in Florida. Outside of being a therapist, I love bachata, tea, and spicy food.
After an assessment, I will discuss what our plan of action should be, whether that is learning new coping skills, changing a behavior, or working through an event.
I strive to provide the best possible evidence-based care to help people see results. I mainly see adults and teenagers 16+ Not accepting clients 15 and under
I use ERP to help my clients with OCD, phobias, and panic disorder to help them live lives free from fear. We take it step by step, starting with small achievable exposures and working our way up to facing bigger fears as you grow your skills and confidence.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
"CPT" stands for "Cognitive Processing Therapy," which is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy specifically designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by helping individuals identify and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs related to their traumatic experience, ultimately allowing them to develop a healthier perspective on the event and reduce PTSD symptoms; it is considered an evidence-based treatment for PTSD
