Hi, I’m Anna Richards, LMFT. I work with individuals and couples navigating dating, premarital preparation, marriage, parenthood, and communication challenges. My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in real-life experience as a wife, mom, and therapist. I offer virtual sessions for clients in New York and Texas through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. I provide both general and Christian counseling, honoring each client’s unique background, values, and goals as we work together to create meaningful, lasting growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where you feel heard and respected. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s been feeling challenging, and what you hope will change. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, relationships, strengths, and goals, and together we’ll begin identifying clear, practical next steps. For couples, we’ll also explore patterns of communication and areas of tension so we can start building healthier ways of connecting. My goal in the first session is for you to leave feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the work ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is warm, collaborative, and results-oriented. I integrate couples counseling frameworks, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Christian counseling (for clients who desire a faith-based lens), and an eclectic method tailored to each client’s unique needs. This means I don’t use a one-size-fits-all model—instead, I draw from evidence-based tools and, when requested, biblical principles to help clients shift unhelpful thought patterns, improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, and build practical skills for lasting change. Clients often appreciate that our work is both compassionate and actionable—they gain insight, but also leave with concrete tools they can apply in everyday life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I support individuals and couples navigating dating, premarital preparation, marriage, parenthood, and communication challenges. I work with clients who want to strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and feel more connected. Whether you’re preparing for commitment, adjusting to parenting, or working through conflict, I provide a supportive space to build practical skills and create healthier patterns. If you’re ready for growth and meaningful change, I’m here to help.
