About me

Warm greetings to the Grow Therapy community! My counseling journey began in 2019, inspired by a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner resilience. I hold a Master of Science in Licensed Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, which allows me to bring both clinical expertise and creativity into my work. I specialize in supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, self-esteem challenges, personality disorders, substance use, and eating disorders. I also work with clients navigating career transitions, parenting struggles, and codependency. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. Through this integrative lens, I help clients regulate emotions, reframe unhelpful self-narratives, and cultivate healthier coping skills. Mindfulness practices support clients in staying present and grounded, while Narrative Therapy empowers them to rewrite their stories with hope and clarity. Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where healing feels possible. My goal is to provide care that is not only effective but also tailored to each client’s unique needs. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and together we work toward clarity, confidence, and lasting growth. Outside of my practice, I enjoy time with my family and pets, exploring the outdoors, and expressing creativity through writing and photography.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, our focus will be on getting to know each other and creating a strong foundation for your therapeutic journey. I’ll invite you to share your story—your history, current concerns, and what led you to seek support. Together, we’ll identify your goals and begin shaping a clear path forward. My priority is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. From there, we’ll collaborate to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and aspirations.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, my greatest strength is creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly seen and supported. I draw from evidence-based approaches—including DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy—while tailoring each session to the unique needs of the individual. Grounded in a trauma-informed perspective, I ensure that clients can explore difficult emotions at their own pace, with trust and safety at the forefront. I specialize in helping clients strengthen emotional resilience, deepen self-awareness, and shift unhelpful thought patterns into healthier perspectives. By actively listening and validating each person’s lived experience, I build strong therapeutic relationships that foster empowerment and growth. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they uncover new tools, reframe their stories, and move toward lasting healing and meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve both teens and adults who are navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. My approach is always individualized, honoring the unique developmental needs of each client. For adolescents, I recognize that this stage of life often brings identity exploration, social pressures, and emotional regulation struggles. I provide a supportive environment where teens can safely explore self-esteem, peer relationships, academic stress, and family dynamics. By integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness, I help adolescents build coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop healthier ways of managing stress during this critical period of growth. For adults, I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions such as career changes or parenting adjustments. I also support those navigating codependency, unresolved trauma, or PTSD. Through a trauma-informed lens, I create a safe, judgment-free space where healing can occur without fear of re-traumatization. I often incorporate Narrative Therapy to help adults reframe their life stories, shift negative self-perceptions, and rediscover empowerment and purpose. I also have extensive experience working with clients facing personality disorders, substance use, and eating disorders. Using DBT and mindfulness-based interventions, I guide clients in improving emotional regulation, building distress tolerance, managing impulsivity, and cultivating balance in their daily lives. At the heart of my work is a passion for guiding both adolescents and adults toward greater self-understanding, clarity, and growth. My goal is to provide compassionate, client-centered care that helps break unhealthy cycles, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you are a teen navigating growing pains or an adult facing life’s challenges, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of my practice, helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. By teaching skills to reframe thoughts and develop coping strategies, CBT empowers clients to overcome issues like anxiety, depression, and stress, promoting healthier thinking and improved emotional well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has been integral to my practice, especially for clients struggling with emotional dysregulation and interpersonal issues. I use DBT's core skills—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—to help clients manage their emotions, improve relationships, and build a balanced, fulfilling life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, I integrate mindfulness therapy to help clients develop present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Through techniques like mindful breathing and body scans, clients learn to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment. This approach fosters resilience and reduces stress, enhancing overall well-being and self-awareness.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients reshape their personal stories, empowering them to view themselves as resilient rather than defined by problems. By exploring their life narratives, clients gain perspective, identify strengths, and rewrite limiting beliefs. This approach fosters self-awareness, personal growth, and a sense of empowerment in therapy.

Heather is very kind and a good listener. She is honest but not judgmental and she wants to uplift you. She is very easy to trust and to open up to.

I dibble dabbled with the idea because I was scared of change and seeking help for myself. Though, after chatting with Heather, I saw that I made the right choice with choosing her! She was extremely patient and was able to quickly read me and my struggles (which most therapists aren't capable of). Though it was out first meeting, I am looking forward to the future ones and hoping for a better future for myself.
