With over 25 years of dedicated service in the mental health field, my journey has been driven by an unwavering passion to support individuals across various life stages. From children to adolescents, young adults to adults, I have committed my career to understanding and addressing the diverse and complex needs of my clients. My experience spans multiple roles, including direct therapy, crisis intervention, and program development, all of which have equipped me with a comprehensive skill set to effectively serve my clients. Working with children and adolescents, I have developed specialized techniques to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and developmental challenges, always striving to create a safe and nurturing environment where young minds can thrive. My work with young adults has focused on navigating the critical transitions of life, fostering resilience, and promoting mental health awareness. For adults, my approach is grounded in empathy and evidence-based practices, aiming to empower individuals to overcome obstacles, achieve personal growth, and maintain emotional well-being. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to lifelong learning, continually updating my knowledge and skills to incorporate the latest advancements in mental health research and therapeutic techniques. This dedication ensures that I provide the highest standard of care to my clients. My passion for mental health is not just a profession but a calling, one that is fueled by the profound impact I witness in the lives of those I serve. Every day, I am inspired by the strength and resilience of my clients, and it is my privilege to support them on their journey to healing and growth. My mission is to create a positive and lasting impact, helping individuals of all ages navigate their mental health challenges with confidence and hope.
In the first session with me, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where they can feel safe to begin their therapeutic journey. I understand that taking the first step to seek therapy can be daunting, and my primary goal is to make this initial experience as comfortable and reassuring as possible. The session will start with a brief introduction where I will share a bit about my background, therapeutic approach, and the structure of our sessions. This helps to build rapport and trust, setting the stage for an open and collaborative relationship. I will then invite clients to share what brought them to therapy, including any specific concerns, goals, or issues they would like to address. This conversation is guided by empathy and active listening, ensuring that clients feel heard and validated. During this first session, I will conduct a comprehensive assessment to gather information about the client's history, including medical, psychological, social, and family background. This holistic understanding allows me to tailor the therapeutic process to each client's unique needs and circumstances. Clients can expect to discuss their current symptoms, previous experiences with therapy, and any other relevant aspects of their lives that may impact their mental health. I will also explain the therapeutic framework we will be using, whether it’s Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, or another approach. This includes outlining the goals of therapy, expected outcomes, and how we will measure progress. Together, we will establish initial goals and set the foundation for future sessions. Importantly, clients will have the opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns they may have about the therapy process. Transparency and mutual understanding are key components of our work together. By the end of the first session, clients can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, a sense of hope, and a collaborative plan to address their mental health needs. This first step marks the beginning of a journey towards healing, growth, and self-discovery.

It is important to me that each client's needs are met, therefore there is no cookie cutter therapy for everyone. I have had extensive experience throughout the years of making sure each one of my clients treatment is catered to each individual.
It has been my experience that CBT is a great way to get clients to relearn thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It allows them to go from negative to positive ways of thinking that also assist with self-esteem, developing healthier thinking patterns, and learn new coping skills.
