Listening to others' stories and supporting them in finding positive paths through challenges has always felt like a natural calling. Even as a child, friends would often reach out, and my mom would joke, "Is the doctor in?" Later on, this passion led to volunteering with kids in creative programs and working in hospice care, where deeper connections were formed. These experiences led to a rewarding role at an outpatient community clinic, where people from all walks of life could share their unique journeys and struggles. My work with clients have included helping those navigate stress, anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions. The ideal clients are those who are open to exploring interventions and truly wish to understand themselves more deeply. Therapy is not about achieving perfection but rather finding new perspectives on who we are and how we engage with the world around us. Healing and personal growth rarely follow a straight path, and it's the patience and willingness to try that often make the difference in finding the right way forward.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that people are often stronger, more resilient, and more capable than they realize. My role is to help clients uncover those strengths, understand the patterns that keep them stuck, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, and identity shifts. Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, and practical problem-solving, I help clients understand not only what they are feeling, but why they are feeling it. Together, we explore the cycles that often drive distress. Many people find themselves reacting automatically to triggers, conflict, uncertainty, or emotional demands in ways that once helped them feel safe but no longer serve them. Therapy provides a space to slow down, recognize those patterns, and create opportunities for different choices. My approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering. I believe healing begins when we can move from simply surviving to understanding ourselves with greater compassion and intention. Whether you're navigating a major life transition, struggling with anxiety, or feeling stuck in familiar patterns, I aim to help you reconnect with your strengths and build confidence in your ability to move forward

Greetings, my name is Soncheray. I am a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of experience. I started Fruitful Life Counseling Services to help individuals understand the "fruit" they bear. How are you showing up in the world-but most of all for yourself! Are you showing up for you at all? You have already taken the first step by searching for someone to talk to; you have started the process-BUT WHAT NOW? I specialize in helping individuals accurately identify what is holding them back. Being able to accurately put words to our emotions is so important in identifying the correct coping strategy. It's no secret that when we feel overwhelmed in one area, we start to feel a sense of powerlessness that transfers into other areas if not addressed. When the transfer happens, we often don't know where the stress or trigger is coming from. Powerlessness can emerge for a number of different reasons. Something triggered these feelings you have. My role in the helping relationship is to help you identify and face your emotions, rather than avoid them. It is time to take your power back, and trust your intuition again. You will never win the race against the thing(s) you're running from. It's time to stop running. Let's get started.

If you can read this, you made the first step. Congratulations. Seeking therapy is hard. Most people delay and tell themselves that whatever they are experiencing must be the way life is. Chances are if you have reached the point to begin exploring therapy, counseling can help make your life better. While therapy is often hard, it can be an enjoyable and uplifting experience as well. I believe that you cannot laugh without a combination of insight and relief. You can expect some humor in most sessions. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. In that time I have worked with men, women, teens, and families on a wide variety of issues. Sometimes that work simply involved helping them through a particular incident or life change that overwhelmed them. Other times our work together centered around longstanding issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. In addition to traditional cognitive behavioral therapy, I also offer a fourth-wave therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have found this technique to be highly effective in helping people with trauma and or anxiety. Our minds and bodies are connected. Anyone who has experienced a tight neck and shoulders or an upset stomach when they were stressed knows this. EFT uses acupressure (done by the client) and cognitive interventions to provide fast and effective relief. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am ready to help you through the challenges you are facing. In addition to counseling, I also provide vocational testing, coaching, and consulting. I provide both Christian and secular counseling depending on the needs of my clients. For clients with high level confidentiality concerns due to corporate or clearance issues, there are ways we can do EFT without you ever speaking out loud about events.

On paper, you have it all together. Whether you're managing a team, pouring everything into your career, or navigating the unique pressures of running a business, you're the reliable person everyone turns to. But constantly solving problems for others often means you're left carrying your own stress with no one to support you. Beneath that capable exterior, you might be carrying the heavy weight of anxiety and/or trauma—whether from past experiences or chronic daily stress at your government workplace . It is easy to experience a quiet wave of impostor syndrome, worrying that showing vulnerability will cause everything to crack. Eventually, this turns into deep burnout that spills into your personal life, straining relationships and draining your joy. You don’t have to carry this alone anymore. I’m here to offer a warm, genuine space where you have a steady, experienced guide in your corner. Prior to my work as a therapist, I have decades of experience in the business world. My approach is informed by my extensive background in work operations and a front-row seat to the business world. I know firsthand how exhausting it is to navigate the fast pace, shifting dynamics, and constant pressure of this environment every single day. Because I understand these realities, I already speak your language. In our sessions, we focus on healing the root causes of your distress, not just managing symptoms. Backed by extensive training in advanced trauma treatment, I know how to help you safely process deep-seated stress. Highly capable people are often incredibly smart and easily intellectualize feelings, but trauma and burnout live in your nervous system, not just your logical brain.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of experience supporting adults and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. I hold a BA in Journalism and Communications from Hampton University and a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University. I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, family and relationship challenges, and major life transitions such as college, new parenthood, or career changes. My goal is to help people strengthen self-awareness, improve communication, and create more balance in their relationships and daily lives. My approach is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. My own healing journey—shaped by faith, adoption, and the power of community—inspires me to walk alongside others through both expected and unexpected changes. I believe in the freedom that comes from doing the work: acknowledging pain, releasing what no longer serves us, and reclaiming joy.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland (LCSW-C), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington, D.C. (LICSW), and a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor with more than 20 years of experience in the social work and behavioral health field. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations across private practice, community-based agencies, and behavioral health settings. I provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults, as well as family therapy, helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief and loss, substance use concerns, life transitions, and other emotional and behavioral challenges. I utilize an integrative and evidence-based approach to treatment, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Person-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. My work is further informed by a holistic mind-body perspective, recognizing the connection between emotional wellness, physical health, and overall quality of life. Committed to the highest ethical standards, I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives and should play an active role in shaping their treatment journey. I foster a collaborative, supportive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My practice emphasizes open communication, partnership, and the delivery of culturally and linguistically appropriate services that honor each individual's unique background, identity, and lived experiences. I view social work not only as my profession but also as my calling. I believe my purpose is to be an agent of change, a compassionate advocate, a voice for those who may feel unheard, and a champion for equity, justice, and empowerment. Through my work, I strive to help individuals and families recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve meaningful, lasting growth.

Hello, and welcome to In Practice. I'm Dr. Natasha Charles-McQueen, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. I work with adults, including first responders, healthcare professionals, men, and older adults, who are navigating medical trauma, traumatic loss, grief, chronic stress, major life transitions, and relationship challenges. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, disconnected, or simply finding it difficult to move forward, therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand your experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with your strengths. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). My education in psychology, combined with my clinical experience, allows me to provide evidence-based care tailored to each client's unique needs. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care that recognizes the connection among the mind, body, emotions, and behaviors. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and supported while also being encouraged to grow in ways that align with your values and goals. Outside of my practice, I enjoy designing guided journals, playing the drum, creating art, and writing poetry. I believe creativity encourages reflection, healing, and personal growth, and those values influence the way I approach therapy and my work. PLEASE NOTE: In Practice is not a crisis or emergency agency. In an emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency room. In a crisis, call 9-8-8 or mobile crisis in your area. Please save these numbers and check the box to show your agreement. My goal is to ensure you receives the level of care that best supports your needs, safety, and treatment goals. Thank you.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Maryland. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Maryland from Hagerstown to Ocean City! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Maryland.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
