Hi my name is Claire! I am an LCPC providing telehealth therapy to a wide array of clients. My approach relies on a combination of evidence-based theories and collaborative effort. I believe that each individual requires a unique and personally tailored holistic approach that encompasses both the mind and body. Due to this I lean on a variety of theories including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help customize and shape our sessions. I tend to work with adolescents and adults experiencing ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and OCD.
Our fist session will be a guided session in which we go over goals for counseling, any past concerns with counseling experiences, and general background information. With this information laid out we will structure follow ups in a way that best align with client goals for their own experience. Our first session will also cover logistical information such as your privacy rights and general questions that may be had about the counseling experience.
My background as both a therapist and therapy client have guided me away from a total blank screen approach. I believe in a collaborative and relational approach in order to foster a safe comfortable space in therapy. I enjoy creating therapeutic spaces that can feel more like guided conversations than lessons or interviews.
If you have been feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or like you’re failing at keeping up with everyone else’s expectations. If you’re navigating complexities surrounding existing mental health concerns, or seeking a deeper and more compassionate understanding of your own mind, I am here to help! Clients will thrive in therapy if they are ready to reflect on the past and present with the goal of creating change in the present and future.
We will use CBT in therapy to identify limiting or harmful thought patterns impacting your day to day. Using this knowledge we will implement thought and body based coping skills to interrupt and shift patterns to something more desired.
We will use ACT to highlight areas of life within and without of out individual control. Using this knowledge we will structure goals and coping skills aimed at taking control in areas we can in order to create safe and realistic changes in day to day life.
We will use DBT to recognize and label the often complex and contradicting emotional ranges we can all experience. With this knowledge we will work to create space and understanding in ourselves aimed at emotional processing and regulation.
