With 35 years of experience as a social worker, I have had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages—from children and teens to couples and families. Over the years, I have honed a deep understanding of the unique challenges people face, whether it's managing depression, anxiety, or navigating difficult life transitions. I believe in the power of a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. Adolescence is a pivotal stage in a person's life, filled with unique challenges and opportunities for growth. As a retired special education social worker and school-based health center social worker from the Jefferson Parish School System, I have found working with teenagers to be particularly rewarding. Teenagers possess a refreshing honesty and openness that makes them receptive to guidance and advice. I have enjoyed the privilege of witnessing the willingness of adolescents to listen and actively engage in making positive changes in their lives. This eagerness to learn and grow is truly inspiring. My experience working with teenagers has highlighted the importance of providing support and guidance during this critical stage of development. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, we can empower adolescents to navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and strive towards a brighter future. Adolescents have the potential to make meaningful changes for the better, and it is a privilege to be a part of their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth. As a good listener, I am committed to working alongside you to create a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and aspirations. Together, we'll focus on your goals and take meaningful steps towards you becoming the best version of yourself. I am excited about the opportunity to work with you and support your journey to healing and growth.

I like to understand you, your values, and your background while also giving you solution-focused interventions you can utilize to make changes. If talking it through without homework is the way you want to go, that is fine too! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with a decade of clinical experience supporting individuals through some of life's most difficult challenges. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling from Central Connecticut State University, with specialized training in addictions recovery, mental health, and rehabilitation. Most recently, I spent seven years as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Garner Correctional Institution, providing individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention to justice-involved adults navigating complex mental health needs, trauma, and reentry challenges. Prior to that, I served as an Outpatient Therapist at Farrell Treatment Center, where I helped establish a new Intensive Outpatient Program and delivered trauma-informed, gender-responsive care to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Hi, I'm Ashley. I believe that somewhere underneath the anxiety, the self-doubt, and the patterns that keep repeating, there is a version of you that already knows the way. My job isn't to fix you or direct you. It's to create a space steady enough that you can actually hear yourself. Together we get curious about the thoughts that won't quiet down, the emotions that feel bigger than the moment, the behaviors that keep showing up even when you don't want them to, and what all of it is actually trying to tell you. I bring tools into our work that help you understand what's happening in your mind and body when you're overwhelmed, so you can actually do something about it instead of just surviving it. But more than any method or modality, I show up as a real person walking alongside you, not as the expert on your life.

Do you ever wonder that life could be better, your mind a little quieter? Now more than ever, young adults are feeling overwhelmed with the life presented to them. I believe you can find the motivation to get control of your life again. I work primarily with young adults with ADHD with a humanistic approach to therapy. I’m a relational, insight-oriented therapist who believes meaningful change happens when we slow down enough to understand what’s really driving our patterns. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity shifts, and relationship dynamics, especially those who function well on the outside but feel tangled or overwhelmed internally. My approach is psychodynamic and collaborative. Together, we look at the emotional themes and internal narratives shaping your current struggles, not just to analyze them, but to help you move through life with more clarity, flexibility, and self-trust.

Welcome! My name is Karin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Congratulations on taking this important first step in prioritizing your mental health—it's not always easy, and it matters. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of the healing process. I strive to create a space grounded in trust, respect, and authenticity, where you can feel comfortable, supported, and free from judgment. Together, we’ll explore what has and hasn’t been helpful for you in the past, using that insight to guide meaningful change. Therapy with me is collaborative. We’ll develop goals together and move at a pace that feels right for you. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating other modalities to support both insight and practical change. My work is holistic, focusing on your mental and physical well-being as connected parts of a whole. I incorporate tools such as breathing and yoga-based techniques to help calm the mind, along with somatic exercises that support nervous system regulation—helping to reduce anxiety, release tension, and process trauma. Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling with anxiety or anger, or looking to express yourself more freely and build discipline, I aim to equip you with tools that foster courage, creativity, and forward momentum. Life brings challenges, both big and small—but with the right support and tools, those challenges can become opportunities for meaningful growth and lasting change.

I bring curiosity, empathy, and a genuine interest in understanding each person’s story to every session. I was born in Connecticut, spent a decade living and working in New Orleans, and now reside in Massachusetts. These experiences give me a unique perspective on different communities, cultures, and ways of life, which I bring to my work with clients. I am licensed in these three states and am certified in Trauma-Focused CBT, Grief and Trauma Intervention, and basic trained in EMDR, as well as crisis intervention training. My experience spans clinical social work, school social work, teaching, clinical management, and program development, giving me a broad perspective on supporting clients of all ages and family systems. I take a flexible, creative approach, empowering clients to build skills, gain insight, and make meaningful changes at a pace that works for them.

You feel weighted down and blocked from opening up. You bottle up emotions and ignore that empty feeling that is making you drift further & further away from your family and friends. You "fake it" just to appear happy but it's just making you feel edgy, tired, and stress out! You toss and turn unable to sleep because you're overthinking about all the "things" that make you worry and your mind heavy. When you do fall asleep you wake up tired, in a bad mood, and dreading the day. You find it's difficult to concentrate on the simplest task. You're falling behind in school. Your work performance is dropping. You find yourself staying in the bed more or zoning out in front of your phone not doing the things you know you need to do. Fear sets in; you begin to worry you'll lose everything even the people closest in your life. You feel more frustrated than ever knowing you're not living the life wanted. You're tired of all the anxiety and the rollercoaster of emotions. You just want to feel at peace, be happy, and able to relax again. Here's where I come in. I’m Tammy Brooks LMFT, a Solution Focused Brief Therapy Certified Level 3 Practitioner. I help adults find joy, connection, & peace again by using an approach is different than therapy with endless talk, rehashing pain & no real lasting change. Instead, we'll focus on want to achieve in therapy and talk about that version of yourself despite the problems you are facing.

Hi! I'm Angelica. If you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and unsure about the future, let's talk. I help women and men learn how to be comfortable in their own skin so that anxiety does not dictate their success. Together, we can begin to identify the causes of your anxiety and work on overcoming them. If you are dealing with relationship issues, work issues, major life changes or feelings that nothing will ever change or improve, I'd like to help you to start feeling better. While meeting with me, you will have a non judgmental space to talk about what you are thinking and feeling. I approach the therapy process with empathy, cognitive behavioral techniques and solutions. I look forward to getting to know you!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Connecticut rather than a city like Hartford?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Connecticut. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Connecticut from New Haven to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Connecticut.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
