I am a Somatic Psychotherapist, with a focus on empowering women to claim themselves in life. I focus on a woman’s relationship to herself (or their self) and how they respond to their inner child, inner self or selves, their inner experience, their close relationships, their community and the world. When our collaboration is working, between you and I, we can find the patterns in your life that keep you stuck in ruts outside your awareness. (Grow may report that I take insurances other than Kaiser, but I only work with Kaiser/Kaiser Permanente at this time.)

As a Doctor of Psychology and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist for 45+ years, I am experienced in helping my clients deal with issues such as Loss and Grief Recovery, Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Crisis Counseling, Stress Reduction, Depression and Anxiety. I provide a calm, empathetic, and nurturing environment where you will feel heard, and most importantly, understood. Together we will work on ways to help you understand your feelings and compulsions. My grieving clients experience closure through writing letters to their loved ones who have died. This letter writing is effective for all forms of loss. Reading the letters aloud is very healing as it encourages acceptance, and permits moving on to build a life filled with love and laughter. I've dealt with my own grief, loss and growth by writing a book series, "The Adventures of the Angel Oleo," as well as "The Dog Bible for Humans - Advice from Dogs to Humans of All Ages." I hope you have an opportunity to read one of my books and that I get to help you, and someone you know.

Therapy for ADHD (Please note: I only provide therapy to Adults (18-64) that have been officially diagnosed with ADHD/ADD) You try so hard to get things right, but no matter how hard you try, there always seems to be something you forgot to do or a mistake you didn’t realize you made. You believe there’s something wrong with you because other people don’t seem to struggle to do everyday tasks as much as you. You’re often left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied at the end of the day because you feel there was more you should have done. You’re completely overwhelmed with the amount of things you have to do that you don’t even know where to start. So you end up spending your time scrolling through your phone, watching tv, shopping, and playing games. Before you know it, it’s already 2:00 am, even though you promised yourself you were going to bed early tonight. But even when you try to sleep, you can't, because your brain just won't stop thinking about everything and anything You’ve been told by others that you’re just being lazy and you aren’t trying hard enough. So you’re constantly overexerting yourself and feeling burned out because you believe your best isn’t good enough. You try so hard to pretend everything is okay.. that you’re okay, and nothing’s wrong until you ultimately reach a breaking point where you can no longer pretend and it blows up in your face. Then you just go back to pretending that everything is fine again. You’ve become used to this cycle, but recently it’s gotten worse and it’s really starting to affect your work and your relationships. You’re tired of working so hard just to get caught up, only to end up right back in the same place over and over again. You want to stop feeling like you’re a complete failure at life every time something doesn’t turn out how you planned. You want to find someone who understands the way your brain works and why you do the things you do.

Here's a hard truth about mental health: Even with all the different approaches to psychotherapy out there, studies tell us it rarely results in lasting positive change for those that seek it. Ouch. That's why I specialize in intensive short-term psychotherapy. It has been shown to help people find the roots of their emotional difficulties, and work through them in briefer time frames. Working session-to-session, each encounter is structured to get the most out of it. No need for lengthy intake assessments: We can get clarity on your troubles in the very first meeting. Why wait years for greater peace of mind if you don't have to?

Do you struggle with people-pleasing, anxiety, depression, internalized and/or externalized anger, or managing emotions in general in a healthy manner? Did you experience childhood trauma and feel like you grew up too fast? Were you labeled "different," "the "caretaker," "black sheep," or "troublemaker"? I teach people how to prioritize and honor all parts of themselves, not just the "desirable" ones. We will work through parts people generally dismiss and ignore such as anger, resentment, shame, and disgust, and learn how to embrace them gracefully. I'll teach you the skills to feel more at peace. As your therapist, I will be challenging and direct, yet empathetic and compassionate. I will challenge you through introspective questioning that will lead you to your own answers. I help you take what you've learned and apply it to your own life by giving you things to think about and work on between sessions, along with resources and handouts to remember. I hope you'll witness yourself feeling more empowered, confident, and more at peace with yourself as my other clients have. You will notice your relationships evolve and change, which can be scary! Rest assured, you will be provided with skills to gracefully go through them. Everything you seek is already inside you. All I’m doing is helping you remember.

Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I am passionate about helping young adults and adults struggling with difficult- toxic- narcissistic relationships, depression, anxiety, struggling with codependency, domestic abuse, grief and loss, stress, work/school/life transitions, trauma, who have lost connection with themselves, and want to understand their behavior patterns that are set from childhood. I take a holistic, strengths-based framework and find myself blending elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution focused, grief, attachment theory and Brainspotting to help support the mind, body, and spirit. I am adept at addressing a broad spectrum of life experiences, encompassing childhood trauma, ongoing stressors, and life transitions. I hold a deep appreciation for the integration of mild psychodynamic theory in my practice, as it aids clients in comprehending and recognizing recurring behavioral patterns and negative thought patterns that have their roots in past experiences. I hold the firm belief that the most significant therapeutic impact arises from the collaborative relationship between the psychotherapist and the client. I strive to create a safe, supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental therapeutic space. Therapy should be a place where every aspect of your being is embraced, welcomed, and valued. I believe in meeting you where you are, tailoring my approach, interventions, and techniques to your unique needs and goals. I feel honored to walk alongside my clients, to be their guide and hold light in this messy world as they heal, grow, and ultimately reconnect with their mind, body and soul while they recreate a new path for themselves.

Bienvenidas! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving clients in California and Colorado. My practice is rooted in a fat liberation lens, which means I actively support you in dismantling internalized and societal fatphobia to cultivate a compassionate relationship with your body. I provide a nurturing space to process life transitions, career changes, burnout, and the journey of becoming a cycle-breaker—particularly within the BIPOC community. As a first-generation daughter of immigrants, I hold deep respect for those who are new to therapy or returning to it. My goal is to create a culturally-grounded, safe environment where you can heal and grow. I am also trained in Brainspotting, a powerful tool we can use to access and process deep emotional pain and trauma that traditional talk therapy may not reach.

Hello! My name is Jay and I've been a licensed therapist in California since 2010. I have helped clients who are dealing with stress and anxiety, past and recent trauma, problems in their relationships, grief and loss, life transitions, and are struggling with self esteem and confidence. At this time, I work with adult individual clients via teletherapy. Before working as a counselor, I had another, very different career, as an engineer. Although I switched out of that profession, I greatly value the critical thinking and problem solving skills that I learned while studying and working as an engineer. I think that those skills make me a better therapist.
