I have been a practicing therapist for over 5 years now. I have worked with a diverse group of populations dealing with depression/anxiety all the way to psychosis diagnoses. I implement a lot of Trauma Focused CBT and Motivational Interviewing into my practice. My clients have often told me that I bring a genuine and compassionate atmosphere to sessions which helps them feel more at ease. I take a very nonjudgmental "at your own pace" type of approach. I want to ensure you feel comfortable every step of the way through your journey with mental health.
I treat our first session/intake as a "get to know you" type of meeting where I find out about your identity, spirituality, hobbies/skills and any other important details that you would want someone working with you to take into consideration. We also go over onset/frequency/duration/intensity of the symptoms you are coming into therapy for in order to develop our treatment plan. At the end of the session I like to give people the option to continue with me or to send the referral back to the list of providers based on how comfortable the client felt during the session with the option to provide this at any time if they wish to continue.
The biggest strength I feel like I possess is fostering a safe and genuine environment for my clients in sessions. Ensuring my clients feel comfortable being vulnerable is an priority for me. I emphasize taking things at one's own pace to ensure we only take on as much as we can handle.
Most of my experience comes from serving adolescent and adult populations ages 13-65. I have had a good balance of clients in and outside of the LGBTQ+ community.

Willing to listen and adapt to every situation. Takes the time to really understand what you're going through, what you're feeling, and the actions you plan to take. They focus a lot on healthy boundaries and reinforcing healthy coping mechanisms so that you can feel what you need to and then move past it without lingering on the bad. Makes sessions fun while also getting across important information that can really help.
