New to Grow
Welcome — You Deserve a Space to Be Seen and Heard As a proud Latinx, cisgender woman and the first in my family to earn a college degree, I understand the strength it takes to navigate multiple worlds — balancing cultural expectations, family responsibilities, and personal goals. Living with a vision impairment has deepened my appreciation for how our identities intersect and shape the way we experience life, resilience, and healing. In our work together, I offer a culturally affirming and inclusive space where your story matters. Whether you’re exploring generational patterns, identity, or simply seeking relief from life’s pressures, I bring both personal insight and professional experience to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Let’s connect and see how therapy can support your growth and well-being.
Our first session is all about creating a comfortable, welcoming space where you can begin to share your story at your own pace. I know that reaching out for therapy — especially for the first time — can feel both brave and vulnerable, so we’ll move gently and collaboratively. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. I’ll ask some questions to learn more about your background, life experiences, and what’s currently feeling challenging or heavy. You’re always in control of how much you choose to share — there’s no pressure to tell everything at once. I’ll also go over important details like confidentiality, session structure, and what you can expect from me as your therapist. Together, we’ll begin identifying some initial goals and areas of focus so our work feels clear and purposeful. Most importantly, the first session is a chance for you to get a sense of whether you feel safe and supported with me. Therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood — especially when navigating the intersections of culture, identity, and personal growth. By the end of our first session, you’ll have a better idea of what the therapy process can look like for you, and we’ll decide together on next steps that feel right for your journey.
I provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy that centers your unique story and lived experience. I strive to create a space where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and affirmed. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with deep cultural awareness, helping clients heal from trauma while reconnecting with their inner strength and community support.
My ideal client is someone who is self-aware enough to recognize that something in their life isn’t working as it used to — and courageous enough to seek support. They may feel pulled between cultures, expectations, or identities, yet they’re motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. While they might carry self-doubt or perfectionism, they also have a deep desire for growth, connection, and healing. My clients often come to therapy hoping to: Strengthen their sense of identity and self-worth, especially as BIPOC or first-generation individuals. Heal from generational or cultural trauma and redefine what success and happiness mean to them. Learn to set healthy boundaries with family, relationships, and work. Manage stress, anxiety, or life transitions with greater confidence and self-compassion. Develop practical coping tools and emotional awareness to create lasting inner balance. Clients may be struggling with: Feeling torn between cultural values and personal goals. Navigating family or relationship conflicts rooted in cultural expectations. Experiences of marginalization, microaggressions, or imposter syndrome. Anxiety, self-doubt, or burnout from carrying multiple responsibilities or roles. A sense of disconnection — from self, community, or purpose.
I specialize in treating Latinx adults and take into consideration each individuals cultural values and beliefs into our work. I am also fluent in Spanish which often helps to freely express emotion and lived experiences as well as allow for more access to care for our Spanish speaking community.
I have been trained and certified in trauma focuses cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), eye movement and desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and Psychological first aid for critical incident support. Most importantly I have used these treatment methods to support clients in creating a deeper awareness of trauma responses, changing unhelpful patterns of maladaptive thinking, and improve relationships with themselves and others.
