I help adults who look like they’re holding it together on the outside, but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same relationship patterns on the inside. We’ll work on stress management, emotional regulation, communication, and the deeper “why” behind your reactions—so you feel more grounded, confident, and consistent in daily life. My style is warm, structured, and down-to-earth. You don’t need perfect words—just a willingness to show up. I use CBT/DBT/ACT tools for practical change, and I can integrate deeper work (Brainspotting/IFS) when it’s a good fit. I also create a dedicated space for men—especially men of color—who want to explore masculinity, culture, identity, and relationships without judgment.

Hey, I’m Jeannuel I’m really glad you’re here. I’m a therapist, but more importantly, I’m someone who deeply values human connection, honesty, and showing up authentically. I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and real — not intimidating or overly clinical. I’m warm, down-to-earth, and optimistic by nature. I value laughter when it fits, honesty even when things feel messy, and creating a space where you don’t have to pretend to have it all together. I believe healing happens when people feel truly seen and supported — not judged or rushed. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s story. Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who appreciates balance, reflection, and growth. I care deeply about helping people reconnect with themselves and trust their inner voice again , or even discover it for the first time. If you’re looking for a therapist who shows up as a real person and creates space for you to be one too, you’re in the right place.

For as long as I can remember, I have been guided by a deep curiosity and an intuitive attunement to the inner life. Through the lens of the Enneagram Eight, softened and informed by the heart-centered wisdom of the Two, I have felt a persistent call toward creativity, advocacy, and soulful service. From an early age, I sensed a vocation to walk alongside others as they remember and embody their true nature. At twelve, I consciously answered this call as a Healer, and since then, my path has unfolded through continual inquiry, learning, and practice—expressed as an artist, a devoted companion, a counselor, and a kitchen herbalist. Each role is a living dialogue with all the parts of me, in service of integration, wholeness, and becoming.

Many of the clients I work with are carrying a lot. They may look like they're functioning on the outside—working, parenting, caregiving, and showing up for others—while internally feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California with 10 years of experience supporting individuals through life's challenges and transitions. I work primarily with adults navigating relationship stress, communication difficulties, grief in its many forms, burnout, identity development, and the emotional weight of trying to "hold it all together." Many of my clients are asking themselves questions like: Who am I outside of survival mode? How do I show up as my best self? How do I communicate my needs more clearly and create healthier relationships? My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients can better understand themselves, build practical tools for navigating life's challenges, and create meaningful, sustainable changes that align with the person they want to be.

As human beings, our experiences are unique to us. We experience and view the world from our lens, which impacts how we perceive ourselves and others. Unfortunately, because we are all unique, people around us also develop perceptions about us which may not be an accurate representation of who we are or our true intentions. Sometimes, our perceptions lead to miscommunication and misconceptions; thereby impacting our ability to connect and develop healthy relationships. Typically, perceptions are based on our experiences and our experiences are not always favorable or pleasant. Occasionally, our experiences are traumatic and abusive. For some, trauma and abuse occur so regularly that it becomes the norm and ultimately impacts social, interpersonal, and intimate relationships. Counseling is the process of becoming awakened to our true selves to better understand how our personal experiences influence who we are. Our personal experiences are impacted by our family of origin, racial and cultural/ethnic group, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc. Because many aspects of one’s life may be explored, including childhood experiences, the process of counseling may feel uncomfortable and intrusive, at times. However, it is important to trust the process and know that every counseling session will not feel good. There are times that as a client, you may feel sad or hurt and become tearful; you may be excited and feel happy; you may be confused and feel hopeless. However, know that in the end, if you trust the process, you will hopefully learn something new about yourself that you never considered. Thus, leading to fulfillment in your life in areas including your relationships and family dynamics that ultimately, enhance your self-worth.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with five years of experience providing individual therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions. I am deeply committed to helping clients heal emotionally, build resilience, and reconnect with their sense of worth and purpose. My passion for this work is rooted in lived experience. Moving to Nigeria at the age of six, losing my father at twelve, and later experiencing the loss of my newborn taught me firsthand about grief, strength, and the importance of compassionate support. These experiences shaped both who I am and how I show up as a therapist—with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for each client’s journey. Life can be full of uncertainty, disappointment, loss, and unanswered questions. At times it may seem no one can possibly understand or help us through a difficult or painful situation. We may even question how the past, present, and future can be simultaneously daunting. Yes, painful life experiences can seem never-ending, but I want you to know there is hope. The hurts of life do not have to leave a permanent scar on your mind, body, or soul. I have found therapy to be an effective tool in healing the deepest of wounds. You are not defined by the wound, but the healing. For nearly a decade, I have served many facing marital, familial and parental distress, drug/alcohol addiction, challenging mental health diagnoses, trauma, and various cancer types. I take great pride in providing therapeutic services and advocating for students with school staff. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and possess a Nutrition for Mental Health certification. Take heart and take joy for there is nothing you cannot overcome.

My approach is collaborative and client-centered, focusing on helping individuals develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their inner strengths and resilience. Together, we work to identify meaningful goals and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports lasting growth and change. In my work, I value a whole-person approach to wellness, recognizing the strong connection between mental, emotional, and physical health. I encourage clients to consider how factors such as stress, lifestyle habits, self-care practices, and nervous system regulation influence overall well-being. Integrating these elements into therapy can help clients build sustainable strategies for managing challenges and improving quality of life. My goal is to support you in growing through life’s challenges, healing from difficult experiences, and moving toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. I am committed to being responsive, supportive, and accountable throughout the therapeutic process while fostering an environment that is inclusive, respectful, and affirming of all identities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
