Hi there, I'm Denise. Do you feel anxious, worried, or depressed and overwhelmed with your life? Are you struggling to feel happy? Do you feel past trauma is affecting your ability to heal? Is it hard to be kind to yourself or to tell yourself that you are doing all that you can? Together, we can build a safe place so that we can find what's not working for you and get you back to a place where your mind, body, and spirit feel at ease. We'll use a mindfulness approach and identify those negative thoughts and come up with a balanced adaptive thought that can help you feel better. All of this comes from a strength based, trauma informed, culturally informed perspective where we will identify your strengths and your plan to help yourself heal. I'm here to help and understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming and scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. I’m Michelle, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, major life transitions, perfectionism, people-pleasing, relationships, and questions around identity and belonging. I have a particular interest in working with first-generation individuals, children of immigrants, and Asian Americans navigating the intersections of culture, identity, family, and emotional well-being. My approach is what I like to call “soft but strong.” I want therapy to be a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, reflect, explore your thoughts and feelings, and simply be yourself—especially if you’ve spent much of your life being the one who was told you were “mature for your age,” the responsible one, or the one who always had it together. At the same time, I believe growth sometimes asks us to step outside of what feels comfortable. I’ll offer support and validation while also providing grounding, gentle challenge, and accountability when it feels helpful. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based approaches. Most importantly, I want to meet you where you are and work alongside you to create a space where you can better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and grow into who you want to be—on your own terms.

Life is hard. Adulting is relentless. It’s so easy to lose focus on yourself when you are so busy with work, paying bills, and caring for others. You go from feeling that slight tinge of pride in being needed at first to stressed and anxious, then frustrated and overwhelmed, to finally depressed, resentful...and dare I say hopeless. Running in this rat race of life can feel lonely, but you are not alone, and you certainly do not have to go through this alone. Sometimes stigma and fear of not wanting to burden friends/family with your problems can discourage you from reaching out for help. Enter....me!.....Hello! My name is Christine. I am a licensed clinical social worker who has provided individual and group therapy to kids ages 6-18, college students, and adults. I've also treated patients in a psychiatric hospital experiencing homicidal/suicidal/psychotic crisis. I have experience with perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety for both moms and dads. I like to use relatability and humor in keeping conversations real while developing an open and honest relationship with my clients. I specialize in work/life burnout, anxiety, stress, depression, recovering from divorce, crisis, grief, parenting struggles, and perinatal/postpartum depression (having gone through it twice myself). My approach is client-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused. It's scary sharing your innermost thoughts and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, safe space where you can unpack life’s stress with someone who is non-judgmental, accepting, honest, and empathetic, so you feel heard and seen. You matter. I would be honored to collaborate with you to listen with compassion, guide you in identifying and understanding your behavior and thought patterns, educate you on why/how that happens, teach coping skills, and help you prioritize yourself while creating meaningful and positive change. Because you deserve it.

I've been a therapist for about eight years with a keen eye for helping others find deeper meaning through their hardships, a calming presence capable of modeling self-regulation, and a reliable ear for those that need to unload their perceived stress across different life chapters. I also offer a modern, diverse openness for cultural understanding as I am a male Latino fluent in Spanish, have Asian ethnicity, and am first-generation American. I can also empathize with perceived struggles as I grew up with low SES, was greatly affected by a custody battle into my teenage years, and became the primary healthcare agent for my father-figure until his passing from cancer during my early twenties. In more recent years, I learned the differences in transitioning from the role of a stepfather to becoming a father of a newborn. Understanding one's own pain from their story is key to learning the balancing act of validating and/or differentiating how to help others process their felt pain. I offer my therapeutic services as your existential teammate who will metaphorically walk by your side along your therapeutic journey.

I approach our first session with wanting to know what prompted you to book the session. This is because people usually book a therapy session with an issue in mind, or with a problem to solve. I assure you that if you are motivated to change your mindset and ready to work on yourself, that you will be able to feel more peaceful and calm with just one session, and you will leave knowing that you will be able to solve what is going on. We tend to be harsh and critical of ourselves thinking that will promote change when that only causes us to procrastinate and feel depression and anxiety. To address this I offer you my book endorsed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on self-forgiveness- find it on Amazon and in Barnes & Noble, "The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness." I offer you my podcast- "All Things Therapy," which can be found on iTunes and Spotify. It is a mental health and wellness-focused podcast with over 425 episodes related to mental health, fitness, and personal transformation for you to dig into. I intend that the show augments therapy and gives you a resource to look for topics you are facing in the show titles and then listen and apply what is offered and see how that changes things for you.

Hello, my name is Yin. I am a bilingual (English/Cantonese) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified EMDR Therapist with over 24 years of clinical experience in mental health. In addition to my private practice, I serve as a Senior Behavioral Health Clinician at Berkeley Mental Health. My journey to becoming a licensed therapist has been long and, at times, challenging. There is often an assumption that therapists have had perfect lives—secure attachments, harmonious families, and a clear path forward. My experience has been different. As an immigrant from Hong Kong, I have experienced the pain of leaving loved ones behind, starting over in a new country, navigating family challenges and transitions, moving through loss, heartbreak, and trauma. These experiences have shaped who I am today and allow me to meet my clients with genuine understanding, empathy, and respect for their resilience and capacity to heal. They have deepened my belief that healing does not mean having a perfect life; it means learning to understand ourselves, finding compassion for our experiences, and discovering the strength to move forward. I want you to know that healing is possible and within reach. It is an honor and privilege to support my clients, especially in places that I, too, have traveled emotionally. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, guilt, shame, and other challenges that can leave them feeling stuck or overwhelmed. As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I incorporate EMDR when appropriate to help clients process difficult experiences and move toward greater emotional well-being. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you reconnect with your strengths and move toward a more meaningful life.

Hi there, I'm Dr. Evelyn Vasquez. I currently ONLY offer in-person, private pay therapy with people who work under extraordinary occupational pressure, including first responders, veterans, medical providers, elite athletes, and other high-performing professionals who are under extreme pressure to help others. If you've been carrying the weight of your work, struggling with trauma, navigating performance anxiety, or feeling the strain in your relationships, I'm here to help. I also work with family members of the individuals mentioned above. I meet you where you are. I understand that therapy might feel uncomfortable or even risky in your world. My approach is about helping explore who you are, changing what you don't like, and giving you tools that actually work within the realities of your life. Whether you're working rotating shifts, managing a packed competition schedule, juggling court dates, or dealing with the unpredictability of emergency services, we will together to build your capacity to perform at your highest level. I bring some relevant background to our work together. As a former collegiate athlete, I've experienced performance pressure myself. My Master's in Homeland Security and experience in security and emergency management have given me insight into organizational cultures and operational realities. While I don't claim to know exactly what you've been through, I've worked extensively with people in your field, and I will learn about your specific experience from you. I specialize in evidence-based trauma treatments (PE, CPT, and EMDR) that have strong track records for resolving PTSD. I integrate performance psychology and resilience skills so you can move forward stronger. I also work with couples and families, because the demands of your career affect the people you care about most.

I’m a first-generation, Vietnamese, transgender, and queer therapist who brings both professional training and lived experience to the work. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. In my practice, I often draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process trauma and experiences in a way that feels restorative. EMDR supports the brain’s natural healing by using bilateral stimulation—like eye or auditory movements —to reprocess memories and reduce their emotional intensity. I also use Narrative Therapy, which invites clients to explore the stories they’ve been told or have come to believe about themselves. Together, we uncover how those stories were shaped—by culture, relationships, systems, or past experiences—and work toward reclaiming narratives that center resilience, agency, and authenticity. I understand the importance of creating a space where clients feel seen, affirmed, and safe to show up as their full selves. Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity exploration, or simply seeking to reconnect with yourself, I’m here support you in that process with care, collaboration, and accountability. Are you looking for a mental health letter for gender-affirming surgery? I write those! Feel free to reach out for short-term therapy services to complete the letter assessment process with me. My practice uses old fashioned, human-generated tools and information methodically accumulated over years of community and evidenced based research. I do not use AI programs at any point in the therapeutic process. *I am not currently accepting family, couples, or group counseling inquiries* *My evening appointment spots are full* *Pls inquire about my reduced rate spots at $150/hr*

As a first-generation Asian American and Christian therapist, I understand how faith, culture, family expectations, relationships, and life experiences can shape who we are and how we see ourselves. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and over 13 years of experience working with children and families. My approach is warm, genuine, compassionate, and down-to-earth, thoughtfully integrating evidence-based therapy with faith and spirituality when desired. I have a special heart for supporting young adults, couples, families, parents, and older adults navigating life transitions, relationships, family conflict, motherhood and postpartum adjustment, parenting, grief and loss, self-esteem, cultural pressures, and personal growth. I believe healing often begins by renewing the way we see ourselves, our circumstances, and what is possible for our future. Our hardest seasons do not have to define us; they can become part of a story of growth, healing, and transformation. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you move toward renewed hope and meaningful change.

Hi, I’m Alexa Eguchi Diaz, LMFT. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about supporting individuals through recovery, mental health challenges, relationship difficulties, trauma, and meaningful life transitions. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to be vulnerable, and encouraged enough to grow. My approach is warm, collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in attachment-based, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I believe our thoughts, emotions, experiences, and relationships all influence the ways we cope and move through life. In our work together, we may explore the deeper patterns that have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others while also developing practical tools to help you navigate challenges in the present. I believe meaningful change involves both understanding yourself more deeply and practicing new ways of responding. I especially enjoy working with individuals who feel stuck in patterns they understand but have difficulty changing, are navigating recovery, or are experiencing challenges with relationships, boundaries, self-trust, or major life changes. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My role is not to tell you who you should be or what choices you should make. Instead, I want to help you better understand yourself, identify what matters most to you, and feel more confident in creating a life that feels authentic, connected, and sustainable.

My ideal client is someone coping with anything from daily stressors to severe mental illness—feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or simply stuck. They may be navigating complex relationships, the aftereffects of trauma, or struggling with symptoms that disrupt their sense of self. Some may have tried therapy before; others are seeking a fresh, compassionate approach. What they share is a hope for change, a desire for clarity, and the drive to find new ways forward—whether that's healing, understanding themselves, or just feeling “okay” again. As a seasoned therapist with advanced NMT training and a passion for innovation, I use a person-centered, solution-focused approach, blending therapeutic modalities to fit your unique needs. Fluent in English, Tagalog, and conversational Mandarin, I provide support that is compassionate, adaptable, and culturally sensitive. If you want to be met with both expertise and genuine care, you’re in the right place. I embrace individuality and creative problem-solving, helping clients find hope even in tough situations. We'll collaborate closely—finding what works for you—so you never face challenges alone.

You deserve to feel well and live your most authentic life. I provide tools to help you embrace a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your coping mechanisms, improve your mood, and thrive with increased daily functioning, self-efficacy, self-esteem, self-awareness, and authentic self-expression. When life feels overwhelming, our minds can convince us that we are alone in our daily challenges and during our most difficult times. We get used to handling it on our own. I believe there is a better way. Working with a psychotherapist who can deeply connect with where you are on your healing journey can be transformative. Transformation might look like addressing symptoms, resolving a problem, or seeking something more. By guiding you to deeper insights and clearer understandings, together, we are better able to confront the barriers that may be holding you back from the life you want to live.

I have been a social worker since 2006 and decided to start my private practice in the midst of the pandemic as stress levels rose from fear, job changes, financial issues, child/eldercare, relationship issues, racial injustices, air quality, displacement by the wildfires, climate change, the list goes on. I thought it was a crucial time to offer support and will continue to do so.

I grew up in East San José, California, in a vibrant immigrant community overflowing with playfulness, rhythm, and resilience. The love and sacrifice of my family enabled me to pursue my dreams, becoming the first woman in my immediate family to complete high school, college, and grad school. I use she/her pronouns and identify as a woman of color with Filipino and Mexican ancestry. I feel alive hiking with my loved ones, salsa dancing, and enjoying my favorite cuisine—Japanese Hot Pot. I am passionate about providing a radically strengths-based approach to youth, families, and adults in therapy. As someone who embodies both privileged and oppressed identities, I strive for constant self-reflection to continuously grow and reduce the harm I can cause as a service provider. I affirm people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious creeds, physical abilities, and beyond.

Fertility & Reproduction Issues
Welcome, my name is Kiran and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #28451) with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in and provide mental health support to people dealing with fertility issues, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2002. In 2005, I started working on the maternal-child health floor in a hospital setting where I was able to help patients experiencing grief, loss, postpartum depression, and medical trauma. My passion truly lies in working with individuals going through their journeys and challenges in pregnancy, childbirth, any type of loss, adoptions, or surrogacies. In 2019, I struggled with my own loss of losing my father and felt it was the right time to move on from the medical field in the hospital setting to a smaller medical setting. Working as a preceptor in this new smaller medical setting, I quickly realized that this was not my calling as I began to miss working with the perinatal population. Soon after, I was given an opportunity to provide mental health therapy to the perinatal population and I believe this remains my calling. I am of Asian descent and love learning about everyone's family histories, cultures, foods, etc.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
