I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations in different community settings. I have adapted different approaches in my clinical work to fit with the populations that I serve. As a therapist, I work to help make clients feel grounded and supported in our session appointments. I strive for authenticity when working with others. I try to help clients value honesty within themselves and in others. I hope to be able to facilitate growth and change in our time together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Standard Intake Questions. I have to assess medical necessity / need but at the same time you'll be introduced to how I like to approach therapy. The first session would be the most contrived session. The sessions afterward would be a better assessment of how a client and therapist will potentially interact with one another. My job is to figure out what you want to get out of therapy and tailor a treatment plan that fits your needs / goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I started my mental health journey practicing and adapting a humanistic client - centered approach. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy to create structure for treatment and teach techniques / interventions to challenge irrational thoughts / beliefs. I learned to expand my treatment approach with psychodynamic / objects relations therapy to bring unconscious thoughts and behaviors into conscious level. I utilize a family systems approach when working with children / family. Lastly I am a big fan of Gottman Method when doing couples therapy. All these terms and approaches can be googled / searched up. But what I like to do in my sessions is to apply and utilize all the tools I've learned as a therapist and apply them to the individual's need. Therapy is not a one fits all approach.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I tell clients that my strengths as a therapist are being flexible and adapting therapy to the individual / couple. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where we can be honest and authentic towards one another. I like to be direct and address problems. If something is not working, I want my clients to let me know. I want my clients to be comfortable enough to challenge the therapist. Therapy is a process and there is no one approach that works well for everyone. My strength as a therapist is to adapt therapy to best help individuals / couples reach their treatment goals. This is taken directly from my website profile page because I say this all the time. My strengths as a therapist is tailoring therapy to the individual as best as I can for clients to reach their treatment goals.
