About me

Are you struggling with what's on your plate, whether you are doing "what you are supposed to be doing," or feeling like an imposter at times? Are you transitioning into a new phase, or ready to do something different? Are you feeling urgency to finally do the inner work so you can live in alignment with your innermost desires and values? If so, I look forward to connecting with you. <br> I can help you process and move through what’s holding you back right now from flourishing. Let’s work together to manage anxiety, low self esteem, depression, and avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what's not working, help you find more clarity, and figure out what will serve you. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you are making the right choice. Give yourself permission to take this time for yourself. You deserve a space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the challenges that have brought you here. Let's work together! I use a variety of therapy styles and tailor my approach to your needs. Mindfulness, connecting to creativity, and a culturally informed social-justice lens also inform my practice and are important to me. I often assign homework between sessions. These might look like exercises or activities to engage in, or prompts to consider and reflect upon. I want for you to feel heard, understood, and validated. At the same time, know that I will challenge you when it is appropriate, and encourage you to experiment with doing things differently than you may have done before. Relief and healing is possible, change and flourishing is possible, but not without effort on your part. Therapy is about getting the support you need, while learning ways to cope, recover, grow, and thrive.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, and then I'll ask you many questions to learn more about you, what brings you here now, and explore what you are looking for in therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to meet your unique needs. Estimate your insurance cost here: https://growtherapy.com/cost-estimate?utm_content=blog Insurance typically only covers behavioral health treatment for diagnosable mental health conditions (such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, etc) and substance use disorders. ***If you feel like therapy would be supportive for you at this time, but falls outside of the realm of what your insurance will cover, we can talk about a private pay option. Book a 15-minute consultation call with me and we can discuss it further. **Currently only accepting adult individual clients. Not currently offering couples/family therapy.** Since this provider only provides remote/virtual sessions, individuals with more serious mental illness, high acuity, and severe trauma-related issues are not a good fit for this practice, where local, comprehensive, wraparound treatment services would be more clinically appropriate.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

I integrate a compassion focused approach that aims to help those with issues related to persistent shame, self-criticism, and an inability to view one’s self and one’s behaviors kindly and compassionately.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My therapy style integrates SFBT, a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. It is strengths-based, future-oriented, and can be effective for kick-starting and sustaining desired behavioral change.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I understand that the systems we live and function in generally do not prioritize equity, health, and wholeness. Our contexts are not neutral, and I will not neglect naming how this may play a role in the challenges you are experiencing. I practice therapy with an intersectional culturally-informed social justice lens.

DD sees me for who I am, through my shields of insecurity. She keeps it real and is encouraging around facing things head on and with warmth. I look forward to our sessions knowing that DD understands my experience in the social, political and material context around me, and I appreciate that she brings in personal reference points to help ground the conversation. With hesitancy from previous experiences in virtual therapy, DD has made the screen feel like no obstacle. Strong recommend!

She is an utter SAINT. She is wonderful with doing client led sessions and makes sure that I feel like we're covering what I want to be covered.
