New to Grow
I’m Shauna del Reed, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor. My belief is simple: every part of who we are matters, influencing our health both mentally and physically. The tension in your shoulders, the racing thoughts at night, the unpredictable energy levels, the moments of irritability or foggy focus, and even the digestive discomfort you might dismiss, all have a story to tell. In our work together, we look beneath the surface to understand what your symptoms are pointing to. Stress, trauma, and lifestyle patterns are often woven together, and when we address them in connection with each other, change becomes possible. I bring both clinical expertise and functional nutrition training to help you create a plan that is as practical as it is restorative. I understand that healing is rarely linear, and it is never one size fits all. For this reason, I utilize a whole-person perspective, combined with compassion and curiosity, to support you in creating a life that feels calmer, more connected, and more aligned with the person you know yourself to be.
In our first session, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can begin building trust and rapport. I take an integrative and functional approach to uncovering the root causes of your challenges, so our conversation will be comprehensive but not overwhelming. We’ll explore your experiences, emotions, and goals for therapy, as well as how factors like nutrition, sleep, movement, and relationships may be influencing your mental health. This session is about understanding your unique story and identifying key areas to focus on as we create a personalized plan to help you feel more balanced and aligned.
As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to share their stories and begin their healing journey. I take a holistic, integrative approach that considers not just mental health but also the impact of nutrition, movement, sleep, and relationships, ensuring that every aspect of well-being is addressed. By focusing on uncovering root causes rather than just treating symptoms, I offer clients meaningful, long-term relief and transformation. My own experiences navigating life’s challenges allow me to connect with clients on a deeper level, offering empathy and understanding throughout the process. I excel at building trust and rapport, tailoring personalized plans that empower clients to take an active role in their growth. With a unique blend of expertise as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, I am committed to supporting clients in every dimension of their healing while continuously growing and evolving in my practice.
My ideal clients are high-functioning adults who appear capable on the outside yet experience persistent internal strain. Many are managing chronic stress, burnout, or the long-term effects of trauma that show up as sleep disruption, anxiety, irritability, low mood, digestive concerns, or inconsistent energy. They are often insightful and motivated but feel that traditional approaches have not fully addressed the complexity of what they are experiencing. I work best with individuals who are open to a whole-person framework that integrates mental health, nervous system regulation, and physiological factors such as nutrition, lifestyle patterns, and stress load. These clients are willing to look beyond symptom reduction alone and engage in a process that connects patterns across mind and body. Many of my clients are professionals, caregivers, or individuals in helping roles who have spent significant time attending to others and are now seeking a more sustainable way to support their own well-being. They value clear, practical strategies and also benefit from understanding the underlying mechanisms driving their symptoms. My approach is especially well-suited for clients who want to build regulation capacity, improve resilience, and develop consistent daily practices across areas such as sleep, movement, nutrition, and stress management. They are looking for both insight and application, with an emphasis on lasting change rather than short-term relief. Overall, my ideal clients are engaged, curious, and ready to participate actively in a collaborative process that addresses both psychological and physiological contributors to their health.
Integrative
My approach is integrative, which means I look at the whole person rather than separating symptoms from the bigger picture of your life. I draw from both clinical and functional perspectives to understand how your mind, body, and experiences are connected. Trauma, stress, nutrition, sleep, movement, relationships, and even a sense of purpose can all shape how you feel. Together, we pay attention to these different areas to uncover what is contributing to your challenges and what can support your healing. This approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you, with the goal of creating lasting change and a greater sense of well-being.
EMDR
I incorporate EMDR when appropriate to help clients process trauma and unresolved experiences that continue to impact current symptoms. This method is integrated with nervous system regulation and a whole-person approach to support meaningful and lasting change.
Trauma Informed Care
I use a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, pacing, and client choice. I focus on building regulation capacity, understanding nervous system patterns, and supporting clients in processing experiences at a pace that aligns with their readiness.
