All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun.

I’m a laid-back, client-centered therapist who believes in creating a relaxed, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions. My approach is collaborative, meaning I’ll meet you where you’re at and work together to create a path forward that fits your unique needs and goals. I value authenticity, and I’m here to listen, offer support, and help you tap into your own strengths to create positive change at your own pace.
Through connection, empathy and a non-judgmental approach, I offer ways to help you discover what may be blocking you from finding your true path in life. By not seeing an individual for what symptoms they have or what is affecting them, I am more interested in helping you find what is the cause of symptoms and how to process them.
I work with adults from all backgrounds. I am also open to any culture, belief, identification or orientation. All are welcome. I base all individual therapy on a client-focused approach and adapt sessions to the needs of each person.
I'm a graduate of Smith School of Social Work, and a licensed psychotherapist. Over the past 15 years I've worked in clinical and educational settings. I am flexible in my approach. I trust clients’ innate capacity to heal and emphasize their ability to notice, regulate, and build on their own bodily wisdom. At the same time, I take an active, attuned role—offering moment-to-moment guidance to help organize experience and support nervous system regulation.

I enjoy working with adults who struggle with anger management. It's important to identify and understand the root cause of anger . Often, clients discover that hurt, shame, fear, embarrassment or loss are the triggers to unresolved anger. The good news is this can be solved, allowing clients to live more healthy, nurturing and fulfilled lives.
I use a strength based, skill driven, cognitive approach that is backed by research. Focus is given on identifying and eliminating thinking patterns that lead to unwanted aggressive behavior, homework assignments are provided to track daily thoughts and emotions and communication skills are taught to help you say what you mean - in a meaningful way.

I don't hide who I am and I am real. I am in the helping profession and I take that very seriously. I am human myself, have done therapy myself, and I believe in the process. If I can help you, I will do my best to accomplish doing that. If I can't, I will tell you that as well.

Welcome to my practice!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with more than 20 years of experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, anger issues, and self-harm behaviors. I want to get to know you and what might be happening with you that you are seeking counseling for. Most people come to therapy when they are in some type of distress. Sometimes this is conscious and sometimes not. If you are feeling powerless or distressed for some reason or grieving a loss in life, I would like to see how we can work in therapy.
The way we work will depend on the issues you bring to therapy. I have experience with different approaches to therapy including but not limited to HUMANISTIC THERAPY (includes the importance of personal responsibility, and a positive, non-judgmental approach), STRUCTURAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (includes the importance of family structure and healthy boundaries), GOTTMAN (includes helping couples communicate better, resolve conflicts constructively, and create a shared sense of meaning), CBT (generally includes a short-term approach that helps you identify and change negative or unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior to improve your mood and overall well-being).
All the above types of counseling styles point towards change or growth. Many times, there is a creative element to counseling and many times the counseling can give you more of a sense of purpose for yourself in life. Please see my calendar with Grow to sign up for an appointment today.
I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) in 2012. In addition to my graduate training, I hold certifications in Psychedelic Integration, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Somatic Therapy, and yoga instruction.
Before beginning my private practice, I worked in a range of clinical and community settings, including psychiatric facilities, community mental health programs, group rehabilitation homes, and correctional institutions. My experience includes supporting migrants, minors, and adults; individuals detoxing from drugs and alcohol; and clients participating in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy integration groups. I have had the privilege of working with people of all ages, gender identities, racial backgrounds, and mental health concerns.
In my private practice, I currently focus on working with adults navigating the effects of complex trauma, depression, anxiety, major life transitions, existential questions, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Many of the therapeutic modalities I use are those that have deeply transformed my own life. I am passionate about sharing the tools and practices that have supported my healing, in service of others’ growth and our collective wellbeing.
I also offer sliding scale options for those who need them—please don’t hesitate to reach out if this would make therapy more accessible for you.

I received my master's degree from Cal State Hayward and since been working with age ranges of teenagers through persons in their '80s, both male and female, clients with legal issues, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, career decisions/troubles, and I have a passion for working with and seeing clients exceed the goals that they have for themselves.

Mental health and stability are so important, and I commend you for reaching out to take care of your mental health care needs.
I have been seeing clients since 2018. I graduated from Antioch University, Los Angeles' LGBT Affirmative specialization and my focus is working with gay Latino men, or men who have sex with men. I am, however, open to working with anyone as therapy is not so much theory-based but relationship-based, so having a strong rapport with the client is always of utmost importance.
In my personal life, some things I enjoy are traveling, (I want to see as much of the world as I possibly can) writing (I love the fantasy genre), going to the cinema (I love fantasy, mystery & film noir), exercising, and enjoying a nice meal with friends and family.
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to invest in your mental health. Are you having a hard time balancing family, work, and life? Are you struggling with avoidance and anxiety about the future? My background in research, crisis care, inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, in-home therapy, group therapy and outpatient therapy has given me exposure to several forms of therapy. I am currently practicing CBT, DBT, ACT and some elements of other forms of therapy.

I went back to college later in life because I wanted to help young people and their families build better futures for themselves. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Holistic Studies in 2002. I chose to pursue a degree with a holistic approach, because I wanted to work with the whole person - mind, body, feelings, relationships, history and spirit.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a dishwasher, fork-lift driver, small business manager, and did an internship with the United Nations. I have lived and worked overseas and in different parts of the United States, and I have had the opportunity to work alongside people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. Like many, I have had cancer and other life challenges. Together, these experiences have shaped how I understand the challenges people face.
I have worked in the mental health field for the last 28 years and have been a licensed California LMFT since 2009.
I worked with youth experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges and their families for 15 years. I also worked with adults in community settings. For the last 13 years, my primary work has been with incarcerated adults. Working with youth and their families, as well as with incarcerated men and women, has taught me about shame, redemption, resilience and dignity. I have seen people at some of the lowest points in their lives, and I have seen their capacity to change, heal, and rebuild.
All these experiences have convinced me that people are always more than the labels they carry or the worst things they have experienced.
I believe that every person is worthy of being heard and should be treated with dignity and respect.
I also believe that change, growth, and transformation is possible for everyone.
I currently only have space for in person client on Tuesday at my office located in San Francisco's Inner Sunset, I'm am full for telehealth.
My approach to therapy is to help each client or couple adapt and grow from life's circumstances. I help my clients thrive within their community and experience a grounded and vital sense of connectedness to self and all others. I am a firm believer that there are not bad parts / people, only bad roles, patterns and wounds. There is always hope for growth, healing and reclaiming vitality and connection. I utilize a holistic approach that embraces one's intersections and addresses mental, emotional, and somatic (bodily) experiences.
Yes, life can be difficult, and you're here looking for help. For 35 years I've helped people like you look at their lives. I've helped them find ways to directly look at the pain, fear, anger, shame, depression, trauma, and other things that feel overwhelming. More importantly, I've helped people move beyond today's focus on pain and struggle to discover new ways to manage their lives, to suffer less, to feel more space, trust, and aliveness.
It has been a privilege to provide psychotherapy to a variety of patients for over 20 years. I have advanced clinical training in trauma, addictions, burnout, sexual abuse, depression and anxiety, and relationships. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and respectful. I provide support and encouragement as you examine core issues and change entrenched patterns of behavior or simply gain clarity concerning a recent issue.
I am a passionate and dedicated Bilingual Clinical Therapist, committed to providing compassionate and effective mental health services to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. With fluency in two languages, I bridge the communication gap and create a safe, non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their emotions, challenges, and personal growth. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from various evidence-based modalities to address the unique needs of each individual I work with.
I am fluent in both English and Spanish allowing me to conduct therapy sessions in the native language of my clients. This linguistic proficiency enables me to establish a deeper connection and cultural understanding with clients who may feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their mother tongue.
I believe that therapy can heal, but I also know that telling a stranger about your deepest pain can be a strange feeling. Perhaps you've been feeling sad, depressed or worried, and hopeless that anything in your life can change. Or maybe you aren't sure what you would even want help with. You know you feel bad, but if someone were to ask you "How can I help?", you aren't sure what you would say.
These problems can feel permanent and unsolvable. After all, something feels broken and unfixable, so how could you not feel that it takes all the energy you have just to get up in the morning and go about your day? Depression or anxiety can also feel isolating, as if nobody else could possibly understand. You may have even received advice from people who you feel mean well but can't understand what you're going through.
Depression and anxiety are not permanent or unfixable, and therapy can help. Imagine feeling peace of mind, and excited about life and its possibilities. It starts by learning about you and going at your pace. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 16 years experience working with adults and teens, I've seen therapy work, and I feel lucky that I get to be part of that journey for others.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) my approach is centered on helping clients clarify what is maintaining their difficulties and develop practical and sustainable ways of shifting them.

Instead, I combine my clinical expertise with real-world strategies that fit your specific lifestyle. In our sessions, you'll find a balance of structured support and relaxed, honest conversation.
Whatever you may be going through whether it’s stress, questions about yourself, or simply feeling overwhelmed know that you don’t have to navigate it alone. You deserve a space where you can explore your thoughts and experiences openly, with honesty and authenticity, and without fear of judgment. If this feels like the right fit for you, I would be honored.
You’re an Asian-American professional who has achieved a great deal, yet you still feel unhappy. You may feel angry with the people you love most, anxious about what life may bring, disappointed when things don’t go your way, and frustrated with all of the above. You know there has to be more to life than simply getting through the day, but you haven’t been able to figure out what that is yet.
As a second-generation Korean American therapist, I understand both personally and professionally how difficult it can be to grow up between cultures, navigate family expectations, and develop a stable sense of confidence and self-respect. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and mindfulness to help clients better understand themselves and develop the skills needed to create lasting, meaningful change.
Hello, my name is Brent, and I am a therapist with over a decade of experience specializing in men's health, trauma, and PTSD. I work with individuals aged 18-64, including veterans, military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders, who are dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, and adjustment issues. My approach is strengths-based and utilizes a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and techniques involving the vagal nerve. These methods empower individuals to navigate challenges, build resilience, and improve their quality of life.
Asking for help is one of the most courageous things you can do for yourself. Life can be stressful, and you can feel pulled in many different directions.
Being an African American man growing up in Los Angeles, I have faced my share of challenges and obstacles and when stress sets in, I understand that even the smallest pebble can feel like a major Boulder. I come from a traditional family where men and oftentimes women are discouraged from seeking help to deal with life's struggles and stresses. I aim to fill that void and change that narrative.
I empower Men, Women and Families to seek to understand their struggles, anxieties and life challenges and to overcome them.

I help you get out of your mind and into your life and develop skills to unhook from difficult thoughts and feelings, stay present and do what matters.
