Hello, my name is Alexis Mohammed. You've made the decision to better your overall mental wellbeing. Change is very scary, but you don't have to do it alone. I am here to facilitate the change you've longed for. As uncomfortable as the process may be, we will work towards your desired goals. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience helping individuals manage their depression, anxiety, and other various life stressors. I believe that all my clients are equipped to create a purposeful life for themselves. I am here to assist you with utilizing your strengths.
During our first session, we would use the time to process through your inital reasons for engaging in therapy and what you hope to accomplish.
My greatest strength is that I am passionate about facilitating change in my client's lives.
I am best positioned individuals who are actively seeking change in their lives and are willing to do the work in and out of session. The ideal client is someone who is ready to receive therapeutic support and can practice open and honest communication in session and beyond. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to see their potential come to life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to facilitate cognitive change in a way where my clients are able to identify when they are indulging in "stinking thinking" and reframe maldaptive thoughts to healthy realistic thoughts.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use acceptance and commitmment therapy with my clients to assist my clients with letting go of thoughts and feelings that are harmful to their growth and to come to a point of acceptance for themselves and a committment to move forward.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivatonal interviewing my clients to facilitate impactful change through motivation.
Strength-Based
I use strength based treatment modality to highlight my client's strengths as a way to build individualized empowerment.
