New to Grow
Seeking support is a meaningful step, and I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship that helps you navigate life's challenges while recognizing and building on your unique strengths. I have experience supporting individuals navigating ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress management, cultural and ethnic concerns, women's issues, family challenges, and relationship concerns. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, working through past trauma, navigating relationship or family concerns, or simply looking for greater balance and confidence, I'm here to support.
Clients can expect their first session with me to be a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free space where they feel heard and respected. My priority is getting to know you—not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but also your strengths, values, and goals. During our first session, we'll discuss what you're hoping to achieve, review your personal history at a pace that feels comfortable, and explore any immediate concerns or questions you may have. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity, so you can expect me to listen with empathy, meet you where you are, and tailor our work to your unique needs and experiences. Together, we'll begin creating a plan that supports your growth, healing, and overall well-being. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the work we'll do together.
I bring a client-centered and culturally competent approach to every role I take on. My work is fueled by compassion, resilience, and a commitment to advocacy for underserved populations, including veterans, at-risk youth with the legal system, youth in foster care, individuals with co-occurring disorders, and immigrant families. Colleagues and clients know me for my ability to build trust, think critically under pressure, and create solutions that foster long-term growth. I am driven by values of empathy, integrity, and collaboration—always striving to uplift others and help them reach their fullest potential.
My ideal client is someone who is curious about themselves and open to exploring the thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences that shape their lives. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, trauma, and behavioral or life challenges. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. In fact, I especially enjoy working with people who are willing to be curious, engage in free association, and explore whatever comes up in the room. Whether you’re looking for support through a difficult transition, hoping to better understand yourself and your relationships, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next, I welcome the opportunity to help you make sense of your experiences and move toward meaningful change.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, or other challenges, and explore more helpful and balanced ways of responding. Depending on the client’s needs and goals, this may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns, building coping strategies, practicing new behaviors, and developing greater self-awareness and confidence. I integrate CBT with open-ended exploration so that clients can not only work toward meaningful change, but also gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.
I use a Humanistic approach that emphasizes self-actualization—the belief that we each have a natural drive toward growth, healing, and reaching our highest potential. Our work focuses on the present moment and what you are experiencing here and now, while still making space to understand how past experiences may influence your current life. I view the therapeutic relationship as an egalitarian partnership, where we work together as equals rather than having me act as an authority figure. Through empathy, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard, I support clients in developing greater self-awareness, trusting their own inner experiences, and moving toward meaningful, authentic change.
My experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is to help clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences rather than feeling the need to fight, avoid, or control them. We explore ways to openly allow unwanted thoughts and feelings to come and go while staying grounded in the present moment. ACT can help clients step back from unhelpful thoughts and recognize that thoughts and feelings are experiences they have, not definitions of who they are. Together, we practice mindfulness and cognitive defusion to create more space between clients and the thoughts that may be keeping them stuck. I also help clients identify their core values and clarify what truly matters to them. From there, we work toward concrete, meaningful goals and committed actions that align with those values. My goal is to help clients build greater flexibility, self-awareness, and acceptance while moving toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach to help clients explore their own reasons for change. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them identify what matters to them, explore any uncertainty or ambivalence they may be experiencing, and build confidence in their ability to make meaningful changes. I meet clients where they are and respect their autonomy, allowing their own values, goals, and motivations to guide the process. Together, we identify realistic next steps and build momentum toward changes that feel personally meaningful and sustainable. I use this approach in every day and has been proven to guide successful outcomes.
