I endeavor in what I strongly believe is my life’s calling in helping improve the overall quality of life for others. With a blend of genuine warmth and compassion, as well as a keen use of clinical training I received while attending New York University, I am committed to your desire for whatever change you feel is needed in your life while providing a supportive, non-judgmental, & client-centered atmosphere. I work with clients beginning in adolescence through senior years & currently hold a license to practice in Florida, Colorado, Iowa, & New Mexico.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients will feel a sense of belonging and acceptance as well as safety. I anticipate my clients to also develop a repertoire of skills to utilize long-term with symptom management/extinguishing, as well as having a sense of confidence in the use of such skills in the service of daily life management.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in trauma/PTSD secondary to my belief that adverse life events/situations can often lead one to experience symptoms which may mimic other diagnostic criteria and lead to ineffective treatment. Combined with a warm, nurturing, and empathic approach I offer an evidence-based therapeutic experience that allows for a person to genuinely improve their overall quality of life in a meaningful, non-judgmental, and gradual way. I look forward to being able to join with my clients on their unique journey.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Trauma can stem from sometimes what we think is the most insignificant thing, however, when we are children the most mild of adverse experiences can affect us in the most insidious of ways long after it happens. EMDR is an extremely unique approach to trauma healing where one talks the least about their pain, and can benefit from its healing effect in a shorter period of time as compared to other types of therapy approaches.

Attachment-based

Our struggles in relationships with others, as well as ourselves, are rooted in the quality of relational experiences we have with our caretakers in the very first few years of our life. It is imperative in an authentic healing process to understand “why we tick the way that we do”…….and by understanding our attachment styles, we begin to unlock much deeper understanding, appreciation, and knowledge in being able to forge healthier internal self relationships and interpersonal relationships with others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Simply stated: our thoughts create our emotions, and our emotions drive our behaviors. Once we begin to understand how we think and learn to identify and rewire irrational thought processes, we can begin to feel better and therefore behave in more reasonable, healthier ways.
