Welcome! My name is Ryley McCallum, I'm a licensed clinical psychologist. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. By truly listening to your experiences and understanding your perspective, I strive to develop a deep connection together where we can foster a strong therapeutic alliance and work towards your individual goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session together will be an intake session where I get to know you, your history, your struggles and strengths, and most importantly your goals for therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe my strengths include creating a safe and nonjudgemental space that allows you to be comfortable and confident in truly expressing yourself. Initially creating a strong and genuine therapeutic relationship allows for the opportunity for challenging and meaningful therapeutic work and growing through facing discomfort.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I primarily work with clients struggling with Anxiety, OCD, and Phobias. I also frequently work with clients with depression, ADHD, and those struggling with general life stressors and transitions.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I utilize exposure and response prevention for clients struggling with OCD, phobias, and anxiety. ERP is very effective but can also be very challenging and uncomfortable. I always strive to make sure you feel supported, heard, knowledgeable, and confident throughout the process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is an evidenced based treatment that focuses on the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Incorporating concepts and strategies from CBT is often what helps clients make that crucial jump from insight and understanding gained during therapy sessions to actionable change in their daily life.
Integrative
Integrative therapy recognizes that therapy needs to be individualized. It incorporates approaches from multiple modalities to fit what will best benefit each individual client. Therapy should always be flexible and collaborative. I am always open to and encouraging of feedback. If an approach isn't working for you, or you just aren't liking it, I genuinely want to hear that so we can pivot and find what works for you!
Humanistic
Humanistic therapy focuses on strengths and personal growth. It emphasizes that we are working with a whole complex person, not just a diagnosis.
