I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals and couples build healthier, more connected relationships. Over the past 12 years, I’ve supported clients in breaking destructive patterns, improving communication, and creating relationships rooted in respect and understanding. I believe that when relationships struggle, it’s often because of conflicting expectations, unmet needs, or repeated behaviors that no longer serve us. My role is to help you recognize these patterns and choose new ways of communicating that create connection instead of conflict. I use a holistic approach that considers the mind, body, and spirit, helping you grow not just in your relationships, but as a whole person.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Each individual has a voice and that voice needs to be heard. In our first session each individual will describe their concerns and what they believe should be the outcome of the therapeutic process. This is a space where you can express your wants, needs and desires without fear of criticism or judgment. I will address my holistic approach that considers the mind, body and spirit. To help me understand where your mindset is, I will ask you to answer the following questions: I want..., I fear ..., I hurt when ..., I react when ... We speak about these questions but they donot need to be answered on this session. You will do this on your own time and you will share it with me and with your partner (for couples counseling) during our next session. To address the body, I ask you, "how do you treat your body?" Do you eat well, do you sleep well, do you exercise?" I will help you identify areas of concern and begin to explore what changes you can start making. I focus on helping you identify small steps for change. Small steps adds up to big accomplishments. To address the spirit, I ask you, "how do you connect to your spirituality?"

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a professional Christian Therapist, personally devoted, deeply committed, spirit-guided servant of Christ; a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with couples who are commited to making their marriage work. They are open to learn about their communication style and make adjustments that will benefit the relationship. My clients are eager to improve but many times don't have the right tools to reach this goal. My clients learn to view their relationship from their partner's perspective. They learn to give each other the gift of understanding and realize that when they focus on becoming a better version of themselves, the relationship begins to flourish.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I have been using an Attachment based therapy approach to help my clients recognize that early attachment experiences can influence their present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps them understand where their behavior patterns come from. With this understanding channge is possible, changing these patterns of thought and behavior becomes achievable.

Christian Counseling

With the Christian Counseling approach I help to integrate your faith into the therapy process to promote improved mental health from a biblically-informed perspective. This approach helps you address emotional suffering and dysfunction by providing compassionate support and guidance in understanding the teachings of the Bible and how this looks like in your curent situation.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT in my practice for the past 12 years. It has helped dozens of clients challenge their negative thought patterns. You will learn that your thoughts affect how you feel, and how you feel determines your behavior. Treatment involves efforts to change thinking patterns, thereby changing and improving the way you feel; hence, choosing a different behavior outcome.

Evelynn connects with me and understands the issues I am working on. She provides wise guidance and good exercises that help me go deeper in my faith and learn more about my own issues. Through her advice and guidance, and the scripture passages I am focusing on week to week, I am opening up myself and becoming a better wife, mother and friend.
