I have been working in the social field in different areas for twenty years. I have dedicated most of my time to working with children and families, conducted weekly parenting group sessions, and provided mental health services mentally ill patients and conducting group therapy. At the beginning of my career, I was employed at Florida International University through a grant funded program that lasted three years serving clients that experienced domestic violence. I have been employed in Miami Dade County public schools for seventeen years. In the school system I worked for three years conducting HIV and STD education for students in high school, worked for nine years as a school counselor and currently, I provide services families with special needs. I have been employed at a psychiatric hospital for seven years part time, conducting group sessions, baker acts, individual sessions, family meetings, individual sessions and treatment plans.

Conduct individual, family or couples therapy focusing on identifying negative thoughts and replacing with more positive ones. I assist the patients on breaking down problems and help them develop appropriate coping skills. Focus includes learning new problem-solving skills and how to face fears and challenges. The objective it to learn to apply these skills in real life experiences. Assist clients in developing cognitive coping strategies in an attempt to change negative perception or conception behaviors to reduce negative affects of stress.
