Hello, I’m DrStem (Sithembile Mahlatini), Founder of Global Training Coaching & Consulting Services, The Bounce Back Empowerment Services, and The Annual Bounce Back Empowerment Conference. I have a rich background that spans from my roots in Zimbabwe to my work in the USA, where I’ve been living and practicing for over 40 years. I am a licensed therapist, and also a certified life, career, and business coach. I am passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges, find hope, and build resilience. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each individual's unique needs. With my diverse experience, I am committed to supporting you in overcoming distress, achieving your personal and professional goals, and creating a more fulfilling life. I look forward to working with you on your journey to well-being.
In our first session, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where I will listen carefully to understand your current challenges, goals, and what brought you here. We will discuss your background, experiences, and any specific issues you're facing, such as life transitions, anxiety, or relationship concerns. Together, we will begin to explore your strengths and identify what you hope to achieve through therapy or coaching. This initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, get comfortable with the process, and determine if you feel confident moving forward. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to start your journey toward positive change.
My greatest strengths in using the cognitive-behavioral and short-term solution-focused approaches lie in my ability to quickly build rapport, identify core issues, and collaboratively develop practical strategies for change. I am skilled at helping clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while focusing on their strengths and solutions. This approach empowers clients to develop essential skills that can help them manage challenges effectively long-term. My goal is to foster hope, resilience, and lasting progress by providing tools and strategies tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring they feel supported, capable, and motivated throughout their journey.
My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are struggling with life, career, and business transitions, as well as anxiety and adjustment issues. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by changes in your personal life, professional path, or business ventures, or anxiety is impacting your daily functioning and relationships, I am here to support you. Together, we can navigate these challenges, develop coping strategies, and find clarity and confidence as you move forward. My goal is to help you regain balance, resilience, and a sense of control during these difficult times.
I have loved this approach for years as I work within the EAP and Insuranc model using this short term solution focused approach. I use the short-term, solution-focused approach because it is goal-oriented and emphasizes practical, actionable solutions. This approach helps clients quickly identify their strengths and resources, enabling them to make meaningful progress in a relatively short period. It is helpful because it fosters hope, encourages clients to focus on what they can do differently, and promotes a sense of empowerment. By concentrating on solutions rather than problems, clients often experience increased motivation and confidence to achieve their goals, leading to more effective and lasting change.
I use the cognitive-behavioral approach in treatment because it is evidence-based and focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach helps clients identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns, leading to more adaptive behaviors and improved emotional well-being. By developing practical skills and strategies, clients can better manage their symptoms, reduce distress, and achieve their personal goals, fostering lasting change and resilience.
