Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During their first session, clients can expect a welcoming and open environment where they will have the opportunity to get to know me as both a person and a provider. This session is designed to establish rapport and trust, which are crucial for a successful therapeutic relationship. A significant part of this initial meeting will involve completing a biopsychosocial assessment. This process allows me to gather a comprehensive overview of any client's background, including biological, psychological, and social factors that may influence their well-being. By collecting this extensive data in a relatively short time, I gain valuable insights into a client's unique situation and needs. Overall, clients will leave the first session with a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, a sense of connection, and a solid foundation to jump-start their healing journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, my greatest strength lies in my compassionate nature and tenacity when it comes to partnering in the healing journey of others. I firmly believe that everyone has the inherent ability to heal and transform their lives. This belief fuels my dedication to supporting individuals as they navigate their struggles. I hold space for pain with empathy, allowing my clients to explore the darkest corners of their minds and emotions without judgment. By fostering a safe and trusting environment, I empower them to confront their challenges and work towards meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a mental health therapist, I am well-positioned to serve a diverse range of clients who are seeking guidance and support in their healing journeys. My expertise shines particularly with individuals who feel hopeless and overwhelmed, as I have a compassionate approach that helps them regain a sense of control and hope. My extensive experience in navigating addiction and recovery allows me to connect deeply with those struggling with substance use issues, providing them with the tools and support necessary to embark on a path to sobriety. My international work in Malawi showcases my commitment to helping individuals who have survived physical violence and sexual trauma, highlighting my ability to empathize with and support those who have faced significant adversity. Additionally, my background working with first responders and military personnel, both active duty and veterans, equips me with a unique understanding of the challenges they face. I create a safe space for them to process their experiences and combat-related stress, fostering resilience and recovery. Ultimately, my willingness to work with anyone who is seeking healing underscores my dedication to supporting individuals from all walks of life. I am committed to guiding each client on their personal journey towards mental wellness, providing them with the understanding, skills, and compassion they need to thrive.

I chose this provider because of his experience in treating survivors of trauma. He asked insightful questions and presented a good plan for moving ahead. I'm looking forward to our future sessions and believe that I chose a skilled provider to meet my needs. I had tried to talk myself out of keeping this appointment but glad that I stuck with it. I feel optimistic about moving forward. Thank you.
