Hello, I’m Sharon Salichs, a Spanish speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and emotional overwhelm. I provide a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can openly process your emotions without fear of judgment. Together, we work on understanding patterns, improving coping skills, setting healthier boundaries, and creating realistic changes that support your emotional well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, we will take time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. You will have the opportunity to share your concerns, current challenges, personal history, and goals for treatment in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment. I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming at first, so we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported while we begin identifying strategies to help improve your emotional well-being. Together, we will explore your needs, discuss possible treatment approaches, and create goals tailored to your situation. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy — the first session is simply the beginning of the process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a deep sense of empathy and compassion, which allows me to connect with clients on a personal level. I strive to understand their feelings and perspectives, creating a space where they feel truly heard and supported.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and emotional challenges. While I support clients from various backgrounds, I have particular experience working with high-functioning individuals who feel overwhelmed, experience overthinking, or struggle with self-imposed pressure. Many of my clients are used to managing multiple responsibilities and may find it difficult to slow down, set boundaries, or prioritize their own well-being. I also work with clients experiencing relationship concerns, family stress, and adjustment-related difficulties. My approach focuses on helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing practical tools to improve emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and build a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle. I welcome clients who are open to self-reflection and motivated to make meaningful changes, regardless of where they are in their personal journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a treatment method that focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts and behaviors while promoting healthier thinking patterns and behaviors. It’s based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that changing one can lead to changes in the others. I have extensive experience utilizing CBT in various therapeutic contexts, with children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring that the interventions are both effective and appropriate for the client’s developmental stage.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy is an approach that emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment in which clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I have substantial experience utilizing Person-Centered Therapy, particularly in settings where building a strong therapeutic alliance is crucial for the client’s progress. This approach is particularly effective with clients who may have experienced trauma, self-esteem issues, or those who need to feel heard and validated.
