(he/him)
Congratulations on taking one of the most difficult steps in your journey: reaching out for help! My name is Rian, and I am a licensed mental health counselor and certified group facilitation specialist with over fourteen years of experience in working with LGBTQ+ adults, youth and parents, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders, relationship dynamics, marriage and family, and ethical non-monogamy, with a specialization in group facilitation and a Caribbean background.
My approach is eclectic, direct, creative, and integrative; grounded in evidence-based practices, such as person-centred therapy, the existential approach, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My therapy style is warm, caring, collaborative, and empowering.
As your therapist, I'm not here to judge or tell you what to do. Instead, I will help you recognize and build upon your hidden strengths and abilities by equipping you with the tools you need to navigate the stresses of life. You don't have to do it alone; give me a call and let's get through this together!
It would be an honor to work with you to help you achieve your personal goals and be a witness to your success!
Together, we will explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, which may be leading you to cycle through negative or unhelpful thought patterns or actions. We will process this together through individual therapy so you can experience positive changes in your emotions and actions.

Together, we can explore the constructs of gender identity, manage gender dysphoria, and address mental health concerns surrounding LGBTQIA+ issues, conducive to respect, self-acceptance, and building a support system leading to a sustainable and functional life.
Sometimes, a client may need a flexible approach that draws from multiple perspectives to address their issues. Eclectic therapy can address a wider range of issues and promote a more individualized, integrative, and flexible nature that combines various techniques to promote lasting and holistic healing.
Sometimes the thing we avoid talking about is exactly the thing that we need to address in order to break the cycle and create the change we want to see in our lives! By establishing safety, trust, and discussing boundaries, together we can slowly make sense of how our past has affected our present and learn how we can more positively influence our future. I can help you learn and use new coping mechanisms to find other ways to express yourself with a self-compassionate and empowering approach. You are not alone. Let's get through this together!
