Life is a story that is constantly unfolding. If your life has left you feeling stuck or lead you to a place of pain, I can assist you in overcoming your challenges so the next chapter looks different from the current. Together, we will work through challenges that leave you feeling distressed and discontent. I work with people across the lifespan facing a variety of difficulties. My specializations include trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions and relationships. Most of my professional experience has been in the field of trauma and addiction. I was previously the director of a trauma therapy program at a residential treatment center, where I developed a program utilizing EMDR, ART and Equine Assisted Therapy to heal unresolved trauma, attachment wounds and assist in recovery. I served in the Coast Guard as the regional behavioral health provider for the state of California, overseeing all behavioral health in our district. I completed service as a LT.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be a time to build rapport and connect. I want to make sure we are a good fit to meet your goals. I try to make sure we identify "low hanging fruit" that can be adjusted to provide more immediate relief from symptoms.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy is regarded as one of our most effective and efficient methods for resolving traumatic experiences. Accelerated Resolution Therapy, though a newer modality, is evidence based and quickly resolves traumatic experiences that have a strong image component. Natural Lifemanship Equine Assisted Therapy focuses on relationships, attachment and trauma. Mindfulness techniques help reduce anxiety and depression. I am trained in a variety of modalities for addressing substance use disorders, including having developed an intervention to reduce the craving levels associated with triggers for addiction. Ultimately, I am trained in techniques that resolve past painful experiences and help you become more resilient when facing adversity.
