I hold a Master's degree from the Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts, and have been actively practicing for over three decades. In our initial session, I will begin with introductions to establish rapport and a strong therapeutic alliance. This involves active listening, conveying care, providing non-judgmental support, and fostering trust, ensuring clients feel safe discussing their primary concerns. We will assess treatment readiness, discuss expectations, complete necessary forms, conduct a psychosocial assessment, and develop a tailored treatment plan. Finally, I will be available to address any questions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I employ an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to effectively address depression, anxiety, trauma, and other conditions. My CBT practice incorporates various techniques, including journaling, self-talk, emotional identification, exposure therapy, cognitive reframing, stress management, progressive muscle relaxation, anger management, and role-playing.

Family Therapy

With 30 years of experience, I have utilized family therapy to assist couples, children/adolescents, and adults in enhancing communication, reducing scapegoating, and resolving conflicts.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Utilized a short-term, evidence-based therapeutic approach to assist clients in developing solutions, including problem-solving techniques, and to facilitate the learning and implementation of healthy coping mechanisms.

Psychoanalytic

Proficient in supporting clients in exploring suppressed thoughts, emotions, and past experiences that may contribute to depression and anxiety. Provide insights into how childhood trauma affects current relationships and overall well-being.
