Hi, I'm Carla, and I'm glad you're here. Reaching out for therapy isn't always easy, and I believe finding the right therapist is an important first step. I work with women who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, or the constant pressure of trying to hold everything together. Whether you're balancing work, family, relationships, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you don't have to navigate it alone.
My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. At the same time, I believe therapy should be practical. I won't just listen; we'll work together to understand what's keeping you stuck, identify patterns that are no longer serving you, and develop realistic strategies you can use in your everyday life. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and person-centered techniques, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. I also value cultural humility and understand how life experiences, family expectations, identity, and personal values can shape the way we experience stress and healing.
My goal is to help you feel more confident, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen your self-worth, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. I believe meaningful change happens one step at a time, and you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.
If you're ready to invest in yourself and start creating lasting change, I'd be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

My name is Elizabeth and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the states of Texas and Arizona. I am also a certified school counselor and transitioned to full-time mental health counseling after working as a high school counselor. I have been working as a counselor for 10 years, primarily in the school setting. I helped my students with issues such as family problems, academic struggles, relationship issues, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and suicidal ideation. Before working as a counselor, I was an elementary teacher for 6 years. I have experience working with adults and adolescents. I love seeing my clients understand themselves better and improve their mental health. I feel comfortable counseling people from a variety of backgrounds, especially those whose backgrounds are different than my own. My entire professional career has been spent with a primarily Hispanic population, but I am comfortable with other cultures, as well. I am a big fan of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Solutions-focused therapy, but I try to cater my counseling to each client, so I often incorporate different counseling philosophies as needed. I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives and I want to work with them to improve their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. I believe it is important and beneficial to have a nonjudgmental, unbiased person to talk to. This is one of the best parts of counseling. I often use humor to lighten the mood when counseling. As a trauma specialist, I tailor evidence based interventions to each client’s identities, needs, strengths, and goals. My primary approaches include Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-(EMDRIA certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems informed interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure based strategies, mindfulness, and other approaches as clinically appropriate. I adapt treatment for neurodivergent clients and clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities because therapy should adjust to the person and not require the person to adjust to therapy.
