New to Grow
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to explore how I can be of service to you. I am an individual who believes meaningful change can happen when individuals feel supported but warmly challenged. My goal is to create a safe space where you can be honest about your experiences while also encouraging you to look at patterns and beliefs that may be challenging for you to achieve the goal and results you want. I will ask thoughtful questions, point out inconsistencies and help you explore new perspectives with compassion. My path into mental health has allowed me to work alongside individuals from all walks of life. Throughout my career I have worked in many different mental health settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health. I have supported individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, ADHD symptoms, and severe mental health concerns. Together we will focus on increasing self-awareness and develop skills that can create meaningful progress. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. We will celebrate your progress, explore obstacles that are getting in the way of the progress you want to achieve, and work on find tools that fit your life.
Therapy is a big step and it's natural to have questions on what to expect. Our first session will be focused on getting to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about personal history, treatment history, relationships, current concerns, and goals you would like to work towards. This session is also an opportunity to ask questions to determine if we are a good fit. Together we will start identifying patterns, explore what has not worked in the past, and create a plan that feels achievable. My focus is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and have clarity on what to expect in future sessions.
One strength I focus on for individuals is finding a balance of compassion and accountability. I strive to create a space where clients feel heard and supported while encouraging them to look at patterns, beliefs and behaviors that are preventing them to achieve their goal. I believe every client is different and deserves an individualized approach versus a one-size-fits-all approach. I tailor my therapy approach to each individuals unique strengths, experience, values, and goals. My style is collaborative, practical, and curious to help individuals gain insight and develop skills that they can apply to their daily life. I also value timing in therapy. I work to recognize whether a moment deserves silence and sitting with difficult emotions or if the moment would benefit from thoughtful questions, honest feedback, or a gentle challenge. These moments are important to me as a clinician so I can assist with the individual feeling supported and encouraged throughout the therapeutic process.
I primarily work with individuals who are 18+ and navigating life challenges and want to invest in their personal growth. These individuals may be experiencing relationship challenges, occupational changes, navigating continued education, processing a loss/grief, recovering from burnout, family challenges, managing emotions, daily responsibilities, or wanting to break patterns that no longer serve them. I prioritize individual therapy due to the nature of allowing us to focus on your strengths, experiences and goals. Together we can work on increasing self-awareness, practical coping skills, increasing resilience, and create change. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, goal-oriented, and most importantly meeting the individual where they are to help them move toward a life they want to create.
