If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, panic, depression, stress, insomnia, chronic pain, or chronic illness, you don't have to face it alone. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of psychotherapy experience, I provide compassionate, evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy to adults throughout Florida and Texas. With more than 20 years in the mental health field, I work with adults 18+, including many older adults (65+), helping clients better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, and find relief that lasts. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology. Originally from Minnesota, I have lived and practiced in Florida for over 20 years.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on helping you feel comfortable and heard. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and begin shaping a plan that works for you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Therapy with me is conversational and collaborative—I’m frequently told I’m very easy to talk to. I aim to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space. I often use humor to help clients relax and navigate stress, and I draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness while tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults ages 18 and older, with significant experience supporting individuals 65+. I bring over 15 years of experience as a therapist and more than 20 years in the mental health field across a variety of settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, panic attacks, depression, sleep difficulties, and helping clients cope with chronic health conditions, while also supporting a wide range of other concerns. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to learn new skills, build resilience, and move toward feeling their best.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been applying CBT for over 15 years to help my clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that cause psychological issues like anxiety and/or depression. I collaborate with my clients in a structured, goal-oriented way to help them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to develop coping strategies to manage challenging situations.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have been providing mindfulness-based therapy for over 15 years and this includes present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises. This therapy can address depression, anxiety, and many other concerns. I help my clients learn to be in the here and now as well as break away from negative thought patterns that can cause mood disruptions

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have been practicing solution-focused therapy (SFT) for over 15 years. SFT is a short-term approach that focuses on creating solutions rather than dwelling on problems. I guide clients to emphasize their strengths and resources to make improvements or changes in life. We work together to identify desired outcomes and then develop concrete steps to achieve them, making it a forward-looking and collaborative process.

Trauma Informed Care

For over 15 years, I have taken a Trauma-Informed approach that recognizes the impact of trauma on individuals, families, and communities. I integrate this knowledge into my practice in many ways, including shifting from the question, "What is wrong with you?" to "What has happened to you?"
