(she/her)
I specialize in helping people cope with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, sleep disturbances, chronic pain, and a variety of chronic medical conditions including skin conditions and diabetes. I work with adults 18 and older and have significant experience supporting individuals age 65+. I have over 15 years of experience as a therapist and more than 20 years in the mental health field across a variety of settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology. Originally from Minnesota, I have lived and practiced in Florida for over 20 years.
My goal is to help you feel comfortable and supported. We’ll get to know each other, talk about what brings you to therapy, and explore meaningful goals for our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and conversational. I’m frequently told I’m very easy to talk to, and I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space. I often incorporate humor to help clients feel at ease, which can be a powerful coping tool in stressful times. I draw from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been applying CBT for over 15 years to help my clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that cause psychological issues like anxiety and/or depression. I collaborate with my clients in a structured, goal-oriented way to help them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to develop coping strategies to manage challenging situations.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have been using mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for over 10 years and this includes present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises. This therapy can address depression, anxiety, and many other concerns. I help my clients learn to be in the here and now as well as break away from negative thought patterns that can cause mood disruptions
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have been practicing solution-focused therapy (SFT) for over 15 years. SFT is a short-term approach that focuses on creating solutions rather than dwelling on problems. I guide clients to emphasize their strengths and resources to make improvements or changes in life. We work together to identify desired outcomes and then develop concrete steps to achieve them, making it a forward-looking and collaborative process.
Trauma Informed Care
For over 15 years, I have taken a Trauma-Informed approach that recognizes the impact of trauma on individuals, families, and communities. I integrate this knowledge into my practice in many ways, including shifting from the question, "What is wrong with you?" to "What has happened to you?"
