New to Grow
I’m Kevin White, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and US Army Chaplain based at Fort Meade. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate life's "perfect storms" using evidence-based tools like EMDR, EFT, and ACT. With a grounded approach and a deep understanding of high-pressure environments, I provide a steady presence for those ready to process trauma, repair relationships, and find a clear path toward a more resilient life.
Your first session is about finding our bearings and identifying the "perfect storm" you’re currently navigating. We’ll spend our time getting to know one another, discussing the specific goals that brought you here, and mapping out a clear path forward. My goal is for you to walk away with a sense of stability and a collaborative plan—rooted in evidence-based tools such as ACT, EFT, or EMDR—that is tailored to your unique life and values.
What makes my approach unique is the rare intersection of my experience as an Army Chaplain and my specialized expertise as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I offer a "bicultural fluency" that allows me to support service members and high-pressure professionals without them ever needing to translate the language of their world for me. I bridge tactical discipline with deep emotional healing using specialized tools like EMDR and EFT, creating a steady, grounded harbor where clinical precision meets a lived understanding of resilience. I don’t just understand the "perfect storm"—I have the advanced skills and the steady presence required to help you navigate through it.
I serve individuals and couples ready to navigate out of the "stuck" places and toward a life of stability and purpose. As a therapist with deep roots in the military community, I provide a grounded, expert space for service members, veterans, and high-stress professionals to tackle trauma and relationship conflict without needing to explain the culture. By integrating specialized tools like EMDR for trauma, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and values-based strategies like ACT, I help my clients process the past and build a more resilient future. Whether you are weathering a personal crisis or strengthening your most important bonds, I offer the clinical expertise and steady presence you need to find your harbor.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
This is my home base. It is the first modality I was taught during my first Master's degree program. It aligns well with my belief that we all have everything we need to achieve our therapeutic goals, and it integrates well with other interventions and modalities.
EMDR
I was trained in EMDR in 2021, and as a practitioner and as a client, I have seen much success using this world-class intervention.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I learned ACT last year; it integrates well with SFBT and EFT to help us learn that emotions are not the problem.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I was trained in EFT in 2021 and 2022. It is an advanced modality backed by years of evidence-based research. The application of attachment science and systems theory can help bring about lasting change.
Faith based therapy
I am ordained and endorsed by the United Methodist Church. I am currently serving as a Chaplain in the US Army. While my faith informs everything I do, I am open and inclusive.
