Hello, I'm an experienced therapist with over 25 years in the field. I have always been interested in people’s stories and support clients facing a variety of issues: insomnia, sadness, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship challenges, work and life stress, and lgbtq support. If you are facing a challenge,it may be helpful to talk to an empathetic professional trained to help you develop new perspectives, feel supported and make changes. My focus is on the uniqueness of each client and feel it is important to establish rapport and a partnership so that the therapy experience is collaborative. I will not simply sit and listen but will interact, ask questions, and offer suggestions. I enjoy working with adults of any age in individual therapy. Some of my specialties include stress management, grief and loss, anxiety , self-esteem and supporting clients facing life changes. With more than 25 years of experience, I consider myself an eclectic therapist using an Integrative Holistic approach. I use a variety of tools from different therapies including Rogerian, Cognitive Behavioral, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Client Centered and Family of Origin in order to best support a client’s journey toward relief and wholeness of Mind, Body, and Spirit. I look forward to working with you and invite you to reach out.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I may also ask you basic background information such as social support, medical history, emergency contact.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients tell me they feel supported and listened to and find me genuine and professional. I enjoy teaching them meditation, mindfulness exercises, and developing personalized guided imagery to support their journey. Another strength is providing the guidance so clients feel more confident, less anxious, and less pain from past situations. I can also offer you education and support during a time of loss or grief.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been a therapist for over 25 years and find that almost all of us benefit from learning CBT--how to pay more attention to our thoughts, identify a thought pattern and twhether they are true or helpful, and if not, how to edit or change them. CBT is very effective managing depression, anxiety, self esteem and even sleep challenges. It is an evidence based therapy with a high improvement rate. I use it in conjunction with supportive client focused talk therapy.

Grief Therapy

Having over 25 years of therapy experience, many of my clients have experienced personal loss. In addition, I have been employed as a Grief Counselor for the past 7 years for a hospice. I provide supportive listening, education about the grief experience and many tools that can help including mindfulness, journaling, tapping into one's creativity, exercise and spirituality. Grief doesn't have to be a lonely journey; I can support you along the way.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a way of looking at life as well as a type of meditation. It can be helpful with insomnia, anxiety, stress, grief and mild depression. I tailor mindfulness based tools for each client.
